Re: Spyderco Photo of the Week Contest!
I've decided not to submit this one into the calendar contest, but still thought it was worthy to submit here!
My favorite shot of the Delica from my recent trip to Colorado. This was taken in Great Sand Dunes National Park, the tallest sand dunes in the United States.
On my way up to the top of the tallest dune, "high dune", I stopped to take in the view of the dunes, and to take a picture of my knife :D! I took this picture right around noon time, and just happened to catch a gust of sand rushing over the ridge. I thought it was a good illustration of the unexpected weather that goes on in the dunes and surrounding mountains, especially in the afternoons!

Very interesting shot. I almost think they would have used it on the calendar, but it would have needed some explanation for the viewer to know what was going on.

Warhammer 40000 is- basically- Lord Of The Rings on a cocktail of every drug known to man and genuine lunar dust, stuck in a blender with Alien, Mechwarrior, Dune, Starship Troopers, Fahrenheit 451 and Star Wars, bathed in blood, turned up to eleventy billion, set on fire, and catapulted off into space screaming "WAAAGH!" and waving a chainsaw sword- without the happy ending.

The winner this week is abbazaba, with this lovely photo! I particularly like the way the light passes through the bottle, turns orange as it does so, and then falls over those beautiful (carbon-fiber?) scales on the Manix. The orange handle on the smaller knife echoes the color nicely, and the orange in the rocky background ties the image together perfectly. Also I like how the liners on the Manix are reflected in the blade. A gorgeous shot.

Runner up is Mushroom's photo of the Wharncliffe Delica on the sand dunes. The focus on that shot is really cool and unique, it's neat to be able to see individual grains of sand flying in the wind. I don't recall ever seeing something like that before in a photo, nice job.

Honorable mention to Surfingringo with that photo of the carved mossy dude holding the knife.
:spyder:
Thanks for all the entries everyone, they are all awesome and I've enjoyed looking at them! It was hard to pick just a few. :spyder:
