Maxamet or K390 Manix 2 LW Back Lock?

#1

Post by Doc Dan »

Would any of you like to see a Manix 2 Back Lock Light Weight with Maxamet or K390? I know I would. I am kind of torn over this one. I personally hope for both.

Wouldn't mind a standard BBL Manix LW 2 in K390. If I want a backlock I'll stick with the Delica, Endura, Native or Caly 3.

My goodness YES to BOTH!!!
My 2 favorite blade steels, in what has become a favorite knife model of mine, only to perhaps be enhanced by a well designed back lock.
I would have to have at least one of each and they wouldn't necessarily need to be a LW model to keep my interest.
This is a great idea for an interest poll and I hope to see it happen, sooner than later. :)
I think CPM 10V, or Bohler K294 Microclean would be excellent blade steel options as well.

I find both appealing. If it is easier to use 10V since it is an American steel I am ok with that too.

I'd go for either steel (or 10V) in a Manix2 Backlock, just not in an LW version.

I like the idea of a LW version because of how easy they carry. The standard M2BL is wide enough that it is comfortable to use, however.
I do not have any direct experience with Maxamet (yet!) but K390 is pretty wonderful stuff. I hope for both.

Do you picture a LW version with steel liners like the Delica/Endura our linerless like the Native5 LW?

I'd rather see the M2 BL in something super tough than something super hard.

I would take any version of a Manix 2 LW backlock, could even become serious competition to my Stretch 2.
If I could pick one I'd choose Cruwear.

I would like to see the LW without liners, like the N5.

This would replace several of my knives.

This would make a great knife, wouldn't it?

I was carrying my Manix 2 BL today and thinking to myself how much I really love this knife. I am truly hoping for more iterations.

I would love to see K390 on the Manix 2. I think it is the perfect platform for the steel. However, I would think a hard use steel like K390 would be better suited in G10 with full or skeletonized steel liners. IMHO

I agree totally. This combination is a Manix 2 that I would certainly buy. I hope to see it.
