Rod and Custom car Fans out there?
Rod and Custom car Fans out there?
Just wondering guys and gals. Bobbers and Primer forever.
Outstanding.
It is good to know that the Kulture is worldwide. Thanks J. :D
I have been into motorcycles for most of my adult life. However, the Harley thing and the hot rod community have always been hand in hand. As a kid, growing up in S. California, I used to spend plenty of time at Lions Drag Strip. Also went to all of the old time original Hot Rod Magazine shows at the LA Convention Center in the mid to late 60's.
More! I can smell the primer.
I like three kinds of paint, shiny paint, dull paint and no paint.
R.I.P. Indian Larry. His bikes were the sweetest ol' skool bikes I've seen in a long time. Autos have been my one true love for 30 yrs. My wife is now #1.
She understands tho. She supports my habits. I miss my 1970 Ford Fairlane,
she was sweet. No headliner, duals, 4-BBl, 302. Pass door didn't open.LOL
She ate Hondas for all 3 meals. Primary color was green, with a lot of rust. :)

I hear you - OTOH when I think custom cars, they better be loaded with chrome and carry a super fancy high gloss paint job with flames and /or pin striping. When talking original antique cars, I can appreciate original paint. I don't like dull paints on cars - reminds me of "rebel" bikes.
I also like the "pony cars" from the late 60's they're becoming classics in theuir own right pretty fast now. And what about the new mustang?????? :D

The new Mustang. Not bad.
Texas is the Mustang state my friend. I see them every day. seen a few new ones too. They are not bad. As for primer? That just says that a guy, or gal could not afford paint. Or thought that it looked cool. Hot-rodders and Kustom fans have been doing it for years. I recently read a story about a guy that found an old 1932 Ford hot-rod in a barn. He cleaned it up, new engine,
283 Chevy, re-did the brakes, and washed the thing. He drives it now.
Old original red paint and rust. It's about keeping something alive, you know?
Later, J.
