What would be nice: 2.5 inch H1 or LC200N

Spyderco has a gap in the product line up in the pocket sized knives of around 2.5" blades. This is especially true of the Salt series. I would think it would be nice to have a 2.5 inch back lock knife in H1 or LC200N with FRN scales. Basic black is okay with me, and so is orange.

I think the emerging answer has been H1 for SE and LC200N for PE. 2.5 is going to be a hard sell with the Dfly 2.25 and the Delica 2.8.

Honestly, I would prefer to see a Salt model that is sized between the Salt 1 and Pacific.

I've always sort of considered the Dragonfly Salt their 2.5"/under Salt option. Though, I would love to see a full 2.5" salt knife added to the lineup!

Whilst not with FRN or a back lock, the Tusk is a great little knife .... and a conversation starter. I enjoy it but don't carry it enough.

A Tusk sized blade in an FRN handle could be a winner.

The Cat and the Urban LW are about the same handle size as a Dragonfly but the blades and cutting edges are just a bit longer. I find their size more appealing, in general. I know quite a few others on this forum think so, too. The issue is the steel choice. A low maintenance steel like LC200N or H1 would be nice for all around use and the care would be less. This is important for folks who live in humid environments and it would work for those who live in places where the blades are restricted to 2.5" or less.

Spyderco has the Urban LW and the Cat in this size range, but they need a dedicated back lock in the range, too.

Dan, Vanax is Bohler's version of LC200N although slightly different chemical composition. Would be interesting to see what Spyderco could do with it

It does seem a bit redundant but if I were forced to live with a 2.5 inch blade law I would want as many options as I could get (excluding the fact that I would also be modding other models down to 2.5). This is a good argument for the Dragonfly XL we've posted about many times, I believe 2.5 was around the most agreed upon size. If you just add .5 to the blade and another .5 to the end of the handle to compensate for the extra blade you could leave all the other dimensions the same so that ergonomics felt the same. I think it's a money in the bank idea.

Native cutting edge is basically 2.5". Sounds like you need to find yourself a never summer native.

The Caly 2.5 Sal mentioned previously, when I was talking about the ULW being made with a back lock, would be really good, and if Vanax is basically LC200N and the knife were made in Maniago, that would be great. I like my ULW K390. It has linerless FRN, great steel, a perfect size, and perfect ergonomics.
