New Alcyone

Sal mentioned this knife in another thread recently. Since then I've been looking at pictures of it online and I'm getting excited about it. Anyone else? The size and proportions look great. Like a perfect little workhorse. Is there any other info about it out there? So far the spydercollector blog is about the only place I see it mentioned.

Hi Bgoode,

I'm carrying one today. They're in QC.

I worked on the design for quite some time, over a year with it's mate, the Polestar. I'm quite pleased with the result, but of course I'm biased. The Polestar and Alcyone were designed to be value folders with the boy Scouts in mind. Of course they'll work fine as EDC's. The pair should serve most depending on your size preference. The steel is USA made CTS BD1, which is a fine workhorse which we helped Carpenter develop.

Wow, straight from the designer himself. You can't ask for any more than that. Thank you so much Sal! I love your company and your products. Looking forward to purchasing the new Alcyone. I think it is gonna be the perfect sweet spot for me size wise and quality vs price wise.

I like the look of this model as well, has the blade length been published? Sort of hoping it's bit longer than the persistence.

thanks bgoode for the links but i prefer to see sal's pocket dump and how hes using the experimental models.
