I love my natives but any chance of getting wire pocket clips please?

Agreed! Been wishing for a wire clip Native for years especially when the lightweight came out.

I agree for the LW, and melted one into the handle pretty easily:

+1. I love those clips. They're secure and don't scream knife.

A wire clip seems only natural on the lightweight offerings. Using the standard clip is like building a light Lamborghini and then attaching a real bull for the emblem.

The clip on the Native looks awesome as is. Any pocket clip says knife in my eyes.

You're not wrong, brother but I think it does vary with perception.

One example I suspect most of us have experienced is buying a new (to you) car. When I first bought a Jetta back in 2000 all of the sudden I noticed Jettas EVERYWHERE. Same thing when my wife bought her Eclipse in 2001. Again we saw Eclipses EVERYWHERE. Were there more of them on the road than the previous day? Probably not. But our awareness of them was raised.

But previously, would I have noticed either model in bright, fire engine red? (Especially the Eclipse, haha) Yeah, probably. I might have just registered "car" for blue ones or black ones but I would have gone the extra level of "hmmmm, what car is that?" on the red ones (or fancy LED lights or....)

IMO, same scenario applies to other things, including knives. We are "knife people" A clip draws our attention and we wonder "hey, what's he got there?" But for the non knife carrying "public" a wire clip is more likely to become background noise where as a bright, shiny steel clip is more likely to draw the attention of folks who don't even know that knives can have pocket clips. It makes them go "hey, what's that thing in his pocket?"

I think that's generally, if not universally, true.

(Nice work on that Native, by the way! Really like it!)

I think you're right, Ken. Never thought if it that way. If that's the case, I think the wire clips should be black, like my Chapparal's. I do like shiny clips, but for low profile, black and/or bead blasted is better.

Anyway, I prefer solid to wire, except on small or light knives, like Dfly or UKPK.
- best wishes, Jazz.

It's too bad there's not an option to use either clip. The knife could come with a wire clip but there would be three screw holes for replacing it with a standard clip.

I agree, the only time I had people staring at my pocket was when I was carrying shinny clips. I only use black ones now.

This isn't a wire clip but the wire clip was my inspiration for hunting down this style custom clip. The fit and finish is no where near what I expected however the clip functions perfectly. Not overly concerned about th F&F because it's on a factory second knife and one of many Spydies in my hard use rotation!

I certainly don't mind the hourglass clips but I grown to prefer the wire clips. I really like the N5 LW (carried the 2015 Forum knife today) but I'd like it even more if it had a wire clip.

I like to carry one clipless, one hourglass clip, and one wire clip. I like variety. :D

Thanks! A lot of the aftermarket clips for the Native 5 LW don't sit on the flat portion of the FRN handle. I gave specified measurements to the maker to make sure that it did and that it wasn't an overly deep carry. So far so good!
