Sage 5 is the new Para 3

I am 100% in agreement with the OP.

I researched hard before I purchased. I looked at and held and played with both the Para 3 and Sage 5 before plunking down the cash. I just couldn't get over how well the Para 3 felt in my hand, so I bought one.

In hindsight, I should have most definitely went with Sage 5.

If it makes you feel better, I will end up with Para 3 as well.

I see some common items in our wishlist. Race you to KW for a 204p Military.

I would have had an unfair head start, as I was just about to pull the trigger on one (I needed to hide another $30-40 from the wife) when a decently-priced Para 3 popped up on The Exchange and I jumped on it.

Fast forward a few days later when a brand new Manix 2 XL is offered to me at a screamin' price by a seller I know and the rest of the slush fund went away. Well, at least I got two Spydies off my wish list for my trouble.

Money laundering has resumed post-haste in my quest for that Millie. I am really going to try hard to avoid any Spydie-induced distractions and focus on the goal. I just need to be careful so the Terrier doesn't discover the rat hole, because if that happens, it'll be a bloodbath.

Congrats on the Sage5.
Yes about the steel, way back when the Sage 2 came out, I ask for perhaps a super steel i n the Sage line.
Looks like it didn't happen.

As far as I know, S30V is a super steel. It's a steel that was created for the knife industry and I would say it's in the super steel range, but maybe at the low end of the range when there are some of these new-ish crazy steels out there.

I feel your pain with the rat hole. Best thing is that from a distance, the Sage 5 and Para 3 look a lot alike to the untrained eye. Just don't get caught carrying both. Good luck with 204p acquisition. Unfortunately for me, I hit the self imposed 3 knife limit on the 5th of the month...

I am rather focused now. I think the only things that might be able to distract me would be a great deal on a NIB Spydiechef or Techno.

Unless I really like the Manix XL then I might be back looking for smaller knives.
