Are all the old Delica and Endura with the plastic clips gone? Would love to see some photos if anyone is kind enough to post them. :spyder:

Nope my friend :p
I give you a hint: it's an uncommon model and not an aftermarket knife, plain edge and kraton insert on the other side of the handle. In other words the handle of a FRN Pro-Grip but a different blade shape ;)

Paul (The Deacon), I know you have one too and it is no mystery for you. Shhh! :)

I was going to say it looks like a vintage Snap-it, but the clip-side view shows it not to be. Sure looks like a Snap-it otherwise--especially the blade back except for what looks like a swedge. Not sure of the Boye lock tab. The 90's Snap-its I've seen did not have the Boye, although thats not indicative of much in any sense.

P.S. It looks like a very, very nice folder--I need one, badly!!!

That's a Pirka, of course. (JDM Spydie, except for some MB "escapees.")

Another Spyderco factoid displayed:

Look at the writing on the clip, compared with all the others in this post.

*Up/down reversed.*
(part of the dead giveaway without seeing the Kraton on the other side)

kind regards,

Now Sal, you really should make some Pirkas for us. It's beautiful, and looks very useful and perfectly sized and designed. Allot needs is a metal clip and some bidirectional texturing. Please?

That's a good looking knife. I can't wrap my mind around why they moved away from this handle shape. They Delica 5 should go back to having a smooth finger grip area like this.

This an opportunity to bring back the integral clip. Liner-less construction of course.

Not sure I can get on board with that. I've just bent too many clips and had to remove them and bend them back to tighten the tension back up. I won't even carry an ink pen that doesn't have a removable clip.

I do recall a discussion about mechanics in particular who really preferred the molded clips because they didn't scratch up car paint as easily if you brushed against one. Personally I just unclip my knife when I'm working on my car.

It wouldn't be for everyone, I agree.

Yeah, metal clip, please. I have an old Cold Steel Voyager with the integral clip, and I don't know how I didn't lose it. I like the molded clips, but wouldn't trust them. I'd sure like a sprint/redesign of this knife, though. Obviously, it would be expensive to make the molds, but it's a really nice design.
