Re: Manix2 Backlock!
That's great! I really hope it's not in S30V, but I have a feeling it will be. This would be perfect for 3V
Re: Manix2 Backlock!
What a wonderful surprise! And set to release in March/April? Oh heck yes :)

Re: Manix2 Backlock!
This is a winner for me. If it has the super tight Native5 backlock this is a homerun!

Sort of curious why more knives like this don't get the Power Lock?

Wow! That's great news for fans of the M2 and back locks. This one should be a winner for sure!
Of all the things I've lost I miss my mind the most!
Re: Manix2 Backlock!
I like the fact that it's going to be a bit thicker. The M2, that is. :) The other introduced spydies look pretty darn cool, too!

Re: Manix2 Backlock!
If it's linerless, how does the pocket clip screw in?
Re: Manix2 Backlock!
I like the looks of that. I'll probably pick one up.
Sal, any plans for an XL version as well? I was thinking about buying a Manix 2 XL this month but might wait to compare the two versions if its getting the same treatment.

Re: Manix2 Backlock!
I'd guess that "lesser" locks, having already proven themselves in smaller folders, make the cost of scaling down the PowerLock not especially compelling.Evil D wrote:Sort of curious why more knives like this don't get the Power Lock?
I suspect the PowerLock was just something Sal and Eric wanted to prove to themselves, and the Tatanka gave them not only a use-case (namely, a folder with fixed-blade pretensions), but also the real estate to do it.
Truth be told, I have no real use for my Tatanka, fun though it is to fondle.

Re: Manix2 Backlock!
Isn't this a normal back lock?
Re: Manix2 Backlock!
Why no liners, I wonder. Or, to get at the point I really want to make, why liners in other knives?

Re: Manix2 Backlock!
This one did feel like the N5 back lock to me at the meet. I'm also looking forward it.

Re: Manix2 Backlock!
We got a fondle of this at the Meet. It's bee-yoot-iful :)
Warhammer 40000 is- basically- Lord Of The Rings on a cocktail of every drug known to man and genuine lunar dust, stuck in a blender with Alien, Mechwarrior, Dune, Starship Troopers, Fahrenheit 451 and Star Wars, bathed in blood, turned up to eleventy billion, set on fire, and catapulted off into space screaming "WAAAGH!" and waving a chainsaw sword- without the happy ending.

Re: Manix2 Backlock!
Was just going to chime in and tell y'all :)
Indeed it felt really, really nice! I hate to say it but i prefer this over the CBBL Manix 2
Re. the pocket clip - I didn't go over it with a magnifying glass, but i'd guess it's Helicoil threads / threaded inserts in the handle.

Re: Manix2 Backlock!
I've seen what thick slabs of G10 can handle and I don't see the need for fill liners. The Military doesn't even have full liners. The only logical reason to have them is to have steel to tap for clip screws.wrdwrght wrote:Why no liners, I wonder. Or, to get at the point I really want to make, why liners in other knives?
Something interesting is it looks like the pivot screws are far larger than usual. That's most likely another upgrade to keep the pivot rigid without liners, and we don't know if there are any Lightweight style liners around the pivot. I think for the most part full liners are overkill on folding knives.
