Spyderco Listens...

#1

Post by JasonC6612 »

I haven't logged in in over 4 months or so here on Spyderco forums. The last time I was here, Sal was talking about one day using his signature mark on some of the Value knives. I was one of the people who asked if he would ever do that. I told him I thought it would be a great idea and many others did too. We are proud of that maker mark! Proud of Sal (and Spyderco). Also, talks of new value line folders were happening. There was so much talk between Sal and customers. My gf knows I used to be on the forums every day for a few months after I signed up and she knows Sal answered me and others ALOT To the point she'd ask me everyday, "have you spoke to Sal?" Hahaha as if I know him personally or something.. which I do not. It's just that he's right here with us. Not much time to hear us out in his busy life, yet, it seems he hears us all.. and answers... ANYWAY..

As I said, I haven't logged on here for quite some time. I got my 2017 catalog in the mail and realized: WOW. Not even 4-5 months after hearing about that signature mark talk and new value line talk, here it is. The Para 3 is here (from what I understand, the sole reason it was made was for the people who asked for a smaller blade due to legal restrictions.) Spyderco actually cares about what we want. It's made me fall even more in love with this company. I will ALWAYS carry a spyderco. Always. This company is about making excellent knives and listening.

Please share what your excited about this year from Spyderco! Which 2017 knives have you bought? Which do you plan to buy?

The Efficient is a nice surprise. The brown manix2 lightweight cts xhp is a great value. I plan on getting a Polestar and Damascus foliage green endura soon. I have the Lil Nilakka and Meerkat hap40 on preorder and am waiting to get a pm3 sprint/exclusive.

Lefty PM2 and maybe another lefty Military (assuming there are CQI updates). -Both are more confirmation that Spyderco listens.

Just received my first 2017 Spydie, the K390 Urban.

Also on the list of top upcoming contenders, for me:

Dark blue s110v UKPK
Raffir Noble and lw Chaparral
The next Paul Alexander collab, formerly known as the Sliver (name apparently in use by another maker)
Maxamet Native lw

Definitely the Maxamet Native. I have the HAP40 Caly pre-ordered but it's through KC so it will be a coin flip if I get one. I was really excited about the M4 Millie until I saw the price tag. It seems overpriced to me with so many other great versions out there.
