Microtech Navy Scarab

#1

Post by ArmaliteKnight »

So, I work with a guy who collects high end tactical knives. Months ago I discussed with him microtech knives and he says he has 2 Navy Scarabs which if you're unfamiliar with is an OTF that fires under water and has tritium in the fire lever/button so it can be easily found by divers that need to open the knife.
BHQ last listed these knives at $650. He offered me one of his two at $250.
We talked about it for some time and even though I wouldn't have the $250 for 8-10 weeks (which I was very, very vocal about), he brought it in today and just handed it to me and told me he "knew I was good for it". I tried to protest but again he stopped me and said to take it home.
I just can't believe it. My boss couldn't believe it, my wife and friends don't believe it.

Who does that?? I've only met this guy a handful of times, we aren't afterwork friends, beer buddies, etc.

This knife is mint too! No wear from use, not a fake, fires hard/locks up tight. Tritium is bright. Dust covers, sheath, pocket clip tool, box and paperwork.

Very nice! I have two Uiltra techs and like them a lot, come to think of it I think I paid more for one of mine than you did.

Right on, thats real nice looking, I've wanted an OTF for the longest time, so many to choose from just not sure which one I want. Good score.

Neat story! Thanks for sharing. :) I really like Microtech's OTFs and automatics. They are exceptionally well made.

Wow very cool! I am so glad and happy for you Armalite :)

The Microtech Scarab is a great knife. I first saw a picture of it in a knife book and knife magazine years ago and knew right away that it is a super knife. Thank you for sharing the experience.
