The Police4 and the BHQ Jade M4 Military are my must haves for 2017.

I am very, very excited about both but especially the Police4!

Yes.
I almost forgot about the M4 Millie.
Both must haves for myself.
And yes, very excited O.P. The K390 Police 4 will be an epic piece imho.

Very excited. The Police 3 is one of my favorite folding knives, easily in the top 3 of all time. The P4 looks even better! Wish it was coming sooner, last I heard I think Sal said April / May.

Wish the M4 Millie wasn't a sprint. I always seem to miss out on sprint runs. I usually just ignore them because they're too much of a hassle to get. I'll stick with my cts204p.

The more I look at it, the more it seems like a Calypso with a straight spine and slightly different handle shape. That's certainly not a bad thing but I kinda miss the original Police details like the swedge.

WIll probably get one or two, as I like the blade grind, lack of Boye dent, and that it's all screw construction so the scales will be easy to replace. Still, not a knife I'm likely to carry much as it's way too big to fit my back pocket.

There's definitely some cross-breeding going on in Sal's workshop ;). To me, the new K390 P4 blade is nearly indistinguishable from a Millie, although it does seem to have a little bit of that signature Delica/Endura 4 hump right at the tip (Gringo had a funny term for it...).

I wonder why they removed the boye dent. I'll probably grind my own like I did with the original Manix. Seems like Spyderco is dropping the boye dent on a lot of models like the Police and Native. I'm guessing thats a change customers have been asking for.

Thanks for this comparison. I'm reminded that I neglected to get the Caly sprint, but will probably forget my regret when I get the P4.

Funny, I see these two more alike than the P4 and Millie. Something about the sweep of the cutting edge. The P4 edge isn't all of a sudden trying to get up to its tip.

One issue I have with the Police 4 is its killed my desire to buy any other folders. It looks so good. I can't imagine finding anything else that'll work better for me.

Wish it was out already. :D

It all depends on how thin the edge is. I hate a thick behind the edge knife. If it's as thin as a Millie, I'm in.

Its at the top of my list for sure, have one pre-ordered, hoping I got it in fast enough to get one from the first batch released. I'm really looking forward to trying out some K390 in something bigger than the EM exclusive pingo.
Happy to be part of this great forum and group of down to earth spyderco addicts, Thanks Sal and gang.

Yea, me too. I like the G10 scales but taking away its identity by changing the blade geometry to a flat grind and then substituting VG-10 with tool steel ?????? I'll attempt to keep an open mind until I see one but I would hardly call this a Police Model.

It does carry quite easily (front pocket) for a large knife. I've carried the proto quite a bit.

I think you'll love K390 Dan. I base that upon my Mule. To me, its like 10V. Awesome steel!
