I have, but I actually enjoy driving more than opening and closing my knife.

Interesting thread.

A couple of knives that were stiff when new (e.g., the Native 5) to break them in - but that's about it.

Warhammer 40000 is- basically- Lord Of The Rings on a cocktail of every drug known to man and genuine lunar dust, stuck in a blender with Alien, Mechwarrior, Dune, Starship Troopers, Fahrenheit 451 and Star Wars, bathed in blood, turned up to eleventy billion, set on fire, and catapulted off into space screaming "WAAAGH!" and waving a chainsaw sword- without the happy ending.

"I can't come into work this week, I got stabbed."

"Oh no! What happened?"

"I got into a car accident."

Never been tempted to play with my knives in the car, as the motion and unpredictability of other drivers makes it seem like not a very wise place to play with such sharp things. Then again, I'm not much of a compulsive flipper, so don't really even play with my knives much anyway, even when not in motion.

You don't tell them that you tell them something like " I was in a knife fight in a bar protecting a woman from pirates".

Nope. I think distracted driving, whether it's due to a cellphone, a GPS navigation system, or a knife, is just as bad as drunk driving. But I learned to drive back when they taught people to operate the vehicle, not just be the passenger behind the wheel.

I put the tips of my thumb and middle finger on both sides the spyder hole of my closed delica and spin it in my hand while I'm driving. Periodically I open it subconsciously, but then come to my senses and close it. It's a great way to burn off nervous energy.

And no more distracted than Drinking a cup of coffee or smoking. It helped me kick tobacco. I'm in the car 3 to 4 hours a day minimum during the week driving from job sit to job site. Since 2011 I have listened to 280 books on Audible.

Glad to hear you kicked tobacco, congratulations. Would you mind if I asked what state(s) you do all this driving in?

It sounds like an incredibly stupid and irresponsible thing to do. As bad as cell phones - even worse.

It works best with a DF2, but I misplaced it when I was out of town and won't see it for a while.
