Do you play with your knife in the car.

I was just driving mindlessly opening and closing my Manix. Just thought I would see who else does this.

Driving mindlessly, or mindlessly opening and closing your Manix? ;) Commas can be important.

Yup. A Manix pretty much lives in the cup holder.

Wish I could but I drive a stick so there's already enough going on. When I'm driving an auto trans it's my girlfriend's car and she's usually with me. She's been pretty fair when I'm messing with knives at home so I don't push my luck when we're in the car together.

I do that a lot when a knife is new. If I buy a knife at a knife store I will have opened it and closed it well over 200 times before I get home. I average over 140 miles per day in my car for my day job. If a knife comes in the mail it gets opened and closed incessantly while I drive from customer to customer for the first few days. I've become accustomed to holding it low so I don't freak anyone out on the LA Freeways. :D :p

Occasionally but I try to avoid it. All I need is some idiot to hit me while texting and driving and then I've got a Military in my stomach.

I have been known to; my wife, too, frowns on it.

But, when alone in my truck, a Stretch in the cup holder always beckons me.

I also drive a stick, so playing with my manix happens outside the vehicle. Although, when I am a passenger I am opening and closing a knife all the time. Helps to pass the time.
I was playing with a knife the other day, I realized I was and I thought to myself that I did it a lot. My wife was driving so I asked her if the repeated opening and closeing annoyed her and said she I do it so often she has grown use to it. :D

Ha! So weird you posted this today. I drove about 2 hours round trip earlier today flipping my Stretch open and closed and thought the same thing, "I wonder if anybody else does this, or am I just weird?" Lol I guess I'm not the only one.

Yes. My gear shifter has taken a few dings when I close up a bit too closely.

Nope-
1.I drive a proper car (or 'stick' as you Colonial chappies persist in calling it)
2.It's a Volvo which should tell you how I feel about risk taking in vehicles
3.DRIVING IS HARD AND DANGEROUS ENOUGH ALREADY IN THE UK WITHOUT HAVING AN OPEN KNIFE IN THE CAR. ;)

Seriously- there's a crime in the UK called "Driving without due care and attention"- which means you were doing something- ANYTHING- other than controlling the vehicle and cause an accident or get spotted by the Cops? You get 6 points on your license and £300 fine, or jail- your choice
Warhammer 40000 is- basically- Lord Of The Rings on a cocktail of every drug known to man and genuine lunar dust, stuck in a blender with Alien, Mechwarrior, Dune, Starship Troopers, Fahrenheit 451 and Star Wars, bathed in blood, turned up to eleventy billion, set on fire, and catapulted off into space screaming "WAAAGH!" and waving a chainsaw sword- without the happy ending.

Nope. I've probably done more than my fair share of distracted driving in the past 55 years, but the distraction has never been a knife. The only times I've ever opened a knife in my car were to cut something and the car was always stopped at the time. Most often it was to cut a few slits in the lid of a coffee container, occasionally to open a bag of snack food.

No, I do not play with my :spyder:, or any knife, in the car while driving or riding.

If I have to deploy my :spyder:, or any knife, in the car then either there's truly a justified need or requirement to do so, or, the car is stopped in a safe area and in "Park" before I draw the knife from my pocket or sheath... and, if I draw my knife out while parked, I do so in order to use it for a justified need or requirement.

Yup! I try to do it responsibly so as not to endanger myself or look like I'm on my way to murder someone, but I'm sure it happens. :o Live life on the edge! Pun totally intended.

Totally made me laugh. I think the same thing. Hope no one calls the cops on the psycho with knife in the truck.
