One is obviously not enough.
One is obviously not enough.
Hi all,
First post
Bought a PM2 about a month ago and thought that would scratch my knife itch. Since then I've managed to talk myself into a Gayle Bradley 1 (excellent) and a Native C41PBK (still to arrive), as well as a Sharpmaker. Pity the dealers here in NZ use the actual msrp pricing, it's painful on the wallet. Must say they are great knives though and I'm sure I'll still be enjoying them long after the price has been forgotten.
Anyways, greetings from sunny New Zealand

Welcome to SPYDERVILLE "Woppydop" :) Living in New Zealand you would really do well with some of the Salt Series models. And you most definitely need a Spyderco Hawkbill folder for a companion blade to a really good Spyderco plain edge folder. The Spyder addiction can be a drain on the wallet at times but anything you buy in the Spyderco line up is truly an investment and one that will pay off nicely if you own it, use it and maintain it over the years.
Also take a serious look at Spyderco's fixed blades because I'm sure you'll find plenty of uses for one where you're at. We have a few New Zealanders here at Spyderville and we love you guys and gals from the Southern Hemisphere
Enjoy your stay here at Spyderville and let us know which models you decide on getting.
Also take a hard look at Spyderco's great sharpening equipment. A Spyderco 204 Sharpmaker would also be a very wise investment too and a great sharpening tool to start out with. And get the extra stones you can get for the kit and you won't have a dull blade anymore

Welcome and good catch on the GB1. That is one special knife for sure.

Congrats and welcome! As JDSpydo says, I'd recommend getting one of these if you go on hikes and adventures through the great and beautiful valleys and mountains of NZ
