Re: Favourite 5 movies
One of my cousin's got me into collecting movies years ago, but when blue ray started to phase out DVD's, I kind of slowed down and haven't put as much time into watching them like I used to. I have an odd taste in movies and really am not a huge fan of action movies.
The Boondock Saints - All time favorite (Forever! Cant be beat IMO)
Fight Club
Donnie Darko
Shawshank Redemption
Good Will Hunting
and some more that I love and I feel need mention are A Beautiful Mind, Memento, Requiem for a Dream, Rain Man, Forest Gump, The Green Mile, Mystic River, American History X, Se7en, The Departed, Truman Show, Almost Famous, and I'll stop there but could definitely keep recommending :D

Re: Favourite 5 movies
I'm a child of the 70's and I love that era of moviemaking, and my choices relfect this.
I have tons of movies I love from that time, but I had to ask myself...if this movie is on <as a rerun> on regular programming TV with commercials, etc., will I sit thru it again? These are the ones which made my cut:
1. March or Die
2. Scarecrow
3. Electra Glide in Blue
4. They Call Me Trinity
5. Godfather & Godfather II

1. Siberiade -- Konchalovsky
2. Fitzcarraldo -- Herzog
3. The Mirror -- Tarkovsky
4. Dersu Uzala -- Kurosawa
5. The Shining -- Kubrick
Embrace of the Serpent is probably the best new movie I've seen in the last decade. The Revenant also impressed me.
