Rit Dye pink G10

I just received a pink Lum. I'm thinking about Rit dyeing maroon/oxblood or dark grey.

This will be my first time dyeing so I have 2 questions:
1. This is a pink G10, will the actual color maroon or dark grey get the desired results?
2. Do you think if I removed the clip and dunk unassembled handle (blade up). would that, suffice? Or should I disassemble the
scales?

Hello W7H20, The color of the g10 will effect the outcome but since pink is a light color it should be minimal with a maroon or dark gray. I have seen knives done without taking them apart and it seemed to work just fine. I have only dyed one frn knife and since I'm a little anal, I took mine apart. You can find a lot of videos on youtube about dying scales and there isn't really one right way to do it. :) :spyder:

This is the recent result of me dyeing mine with "wine"-colored RIT dye:



I completely disassembled the knife and dyed the scales only. You can find some more info in this old G10 RIT dye thread I posted a while back. Hope that helps, Radioactive :)

Yea I'm leaning toward oxblood.

I just dyed a pink Delica using scarlet RIT dye and it's close to an oxblood color. This is frn that is a different color pink than the g10 Lum so your results may vary.

Me too, I'd never really liked the knife, not so much the pink, just the Lum Chinese, but radioactive's pic sold me....dont know what color I'm going to go with, will be my 1st attempt at a color change.
