Yes of course. :cool:SpyderEdgeForever wrote:Let me ask you this, original poster/poll-taker:
Was the motivational intent of the poll done in order to come up with a basic price range and materials range of knives that you think would best sell and be desired on the world market of knife consumers?

I absolutely love the Matrix movies but movie 2 & 3 are actually part 1 & 2 of the same movie and not really two different movies... anyway that's how I feel about it.ejames13 wrote:

Mikael,
From your link a majority is "More than half (50%) of some group"
So again, say you had 5 knives. They cost $36, $50, $77, $125 & $210. How would you answer your poll? None of your categories have a majority. In fact, with 7 categories people would almost never have a majority in one category.
So how does the poll help you when virtually no one answered the question. What questions do you think we answered?

If this is true, why not just ask this question instead of running a meaningless poll. Why not use the responders to this post to construct a meaningful and useful poll. I would be willing to help but if you continue to evade and troll I am done.Mikael Andersson wrote:Yes of course. :cool:SpyderEdgeForever wrote:Let me ask you this, original poster/poll-taker:

What is meaningless to you might not be meaningless to someone else.QUICKSILVER wrote:If this is true, why not just ask this question instead of running a meaningless poll. If you can't vote on the poll because your price ranges are too spread out, then buy more knives until you start to see what is your price range.QUICKSILVER wrote:Mikael,

I no longer buy knives that are more than about $150 due to the rule of diminishing returns. I have owned a handful of knives that were over $250 but they are all gone because I didn't think they were worth the price. I will never buy a $300 or $400 Spyderco...or any other knife for that matter.

I try and keep $250 as my ceiling but with shipping it might go above that.David Lowry wrote:I no longer buy knives that are more than about $150 due to the rule of diminishing returns. $102.65 each for 392 knives, 75% Spyderco.
39 > $200
38 $150-$199
90 $100-$149
119 $50-$99
106 < $49 (Back when you could buy a Delica for $40)

38 $150-$199
90 $100-$149

Re: At which price range are the majority of your knife purchases?
I chose $100 to $299, figuring that this being the Spyderco-only section of the forum, other knives should be factored-out. On the custom/hand-made/mid-tech side, I tend to spend a bit more, with $400+ not being unusual. These higher-end knives being fewer, my overall average may well be within the $100-$299 range, anyway.

I like to stay under 100 when possible but will consider more for collabs, high end materials, etc.

$100-299 for me. Nothing below $100, a few north of $299.
