Hi all!!!
Browsing the net I found an e-shop selling a native (light) with 440A blade.
I thought the native blade was made of a different (and better) steel. I guess who wrote the specs of the knife just made a mistake, but if anyone knows about the existence of a Native with 440A blade, could you please tell me?
Thanks in advance!
Bye!
Pettorro.

As my forespeaker said, it's an early batch of lower quality knives. If I remember well, it was made by Camillus (under licence, of course) and distributed by Blue Ridge Knives (therefore they are known as the BRK Natives). Worth around $20. A few people got lucky with this knife though, meaning they got a decent knife, but usually the quality sucks.
Anyway, it's no match to the "real" Native (either in S30V or CPM 440V).

Hey, I'm always on the look out for good deals on Spyderco Natives. But I suggest a little education first before ebaying for them. There are some sellers out there that would like nothing more than to dup you into buying a 'First Generation' BRK Native. Recently, I asked a seller to send me some pics and he was like that is the best shot I can get of the tang on the knife...which I believe is the same posting you looked at...which basically tells me its another 'trick shot' aka photo magic to decieve the would be buyer into to believing its some rare blade steel native when its really the 1st Gen. BRK Native. You gotta watch out for these guys. Now if you are looking for a cheaper version of the same design of the Spyderco Native...then a 1st Gen. is what your looking for...however, the only older blade steel Native I would chase is GIN-1 or also known as G2. So if anyone out there has a NIB PE Native GIN-1 shoot me an email at ekerne@msn.com Thanks!
Hi everybody and thanks for your help!
After a brief research I was able find an answer.
To sum up:
If you put as keywords on Google “Spyderco Native 440A blade” you’ll get some e-stores selling knives that really look like Natives, for very affordable prices. The specs will say “blade: 440A” and the rest is quite similar to the original (some of the knives will have “first generation” engraved on the blade). What “smells strange” is that no detailed or close–up pics of these knives are offered.
Of the various sites that will come up with the Google search, one will say something like “imitation Spyderco knives, beware!”. Click to open that page and you’ll find some answers about those cheap Natives. An anticipation: the blades were made by Spyderco who was not fully satisfied with them, so another company bought them and assembled knives that look like Natives, but don’t have the Spyderco quality… Well go check it out…
Bye!

Aloha and welcome Petorro!
Yeah, that BRK Native always threw me off...
My first Native that I hardly used is stamped Gin 1 Stainless. Dialex is right in that some people do acquire a decent BRK Native, but the chances of being one of those few are rare indeed.
