The plan was to be satisfied with my 2 Bladehq PM2 M4 exlcusives. After seeing that KW still had these carbon fiber models in stock, I caved today and ordered 1.
The cf texture looks very cool.

Received mine this past Saturday. Perfect in almost every way. Only minor complaint is that the stop pin screw on the presentation side was coming loose. Tried Loctite 243 twice now (let it sit 12 hours the first time and 48 hours the second time) and it just won't cure. Ordered some of the Loctite primer today. Hopefully that will take care of it.

Mine is almost perfect too except for THE worst lock stick of any knife I have ever had. Takes 10x the force to break the compression liner from the blade tang than it does to overcome the detent when opening. And the thwack you hear when flicking open is nothing to the THWACK you hear when unlocking.

That has regulated this knife to my least favorite of my PM2's. And no, I do not intend to carry a pencil around with me to put lead on the tang all the time nor a quart of oil nor 2 sharpies.

Also, one more peeve, surprised to see lock up is past 50% on a brand new knife. I prefer much earlier than that when new.

If the knife worked like it looks, it would be my favorite.

Have you considered sending it to W&R to see if there something they could do to fix it? Just wondering if its something they could remedy. My CF Yo2 exclusive has the same issue, I hardly ever carry it either for the same reason.

Check to make sure the stop pin screws are tightened down. Mine was developing terrible lock stick when I noticed that one of the stop pin screws was very loose and working its way out.

Stop pin is fine. I decided to just sell it and move on. Last time I buy a PM2 and spend over $200. I have a $135 one that is light years better.

Love the materials and looks, but can't stand the knife. My index finger is killing me. And just not interested in persuing warranty work. Just don't see how this stuff gets past the assembly bench like this to be honest.

Why not send it back to Knifeworks for an exchange? I think they'll do that.

Mine was stuck in customs for a few days. Just got released. Should be here tomorrow. Hopefully I don't get slammed with import fees and the knife doesn't have any problems... Would be a shame.

Man, I'm surprised about the amounts of complaints on this one. If anything, usually the sprints and exclusives are among the best specimens to come out of Golden in terms of fit and finish. Weird.

Just got mine today and it's a very nice example. The edge bevel isn't overly wide and appears completely even on both sides all the way to the tip. Perfect blade centering while closed and absolutely no blade play in any direction.

Well... Got mine delivered five minutes ago. Slammed by customs - nearly $50. Total comes to about $375 CAD. Not sure if it's still worth it at that point. Guess it only hurts once.

Blade came with specks of what I assume to be oil. Small chip in the CF just beside the lanyard hole on one side. Grind is slightly higher near the tip on one side. Somewhat sticky. Force required to free the blade from the handle area is more than I'd like. Absolutely no movement when the lock bar is disengaged, doesn't swing down. Need the other hand or a flick.

Engagement is smooth but slow. 'Thwack' is nice and satisfying. Centering is spot on. CF texture is grippy. Blade is super sharp.

Mine came without a white paper in the Spydie box. Is that normal or not?

Mine arrived today. It's okay but I expected near perfection on a knife of this value. My S30V PM2 is perfect (and so were the few others I've handled). The M4 has required disassembly already as the non lock side steel liner was warped out about 1mm making it look not nested. Piece of debris in there, looked like CF. Blade is slightly off centre. I thought fixing the liner issue would fix that, nope. I'm in Australia so return is not a great option (hence not miffed about disassembly, warranty etc).

I'm not too worried as this will be my new user PM2 but still. For the price am I being unreasonable to expect decent QC.

M4 and CF sure are a great combo. This is my first peel ply CF and I really like it. Super grippy. I didn't think it would be grippier than G10 but to my hand it is.

Another thing I've noticed is the blade detent, noticeably stronger/more positive than any other compression lock I've fondled. I appreciate it like this.

Mine arrived a few days ago, close to perfect, though not quite as free swinging as the BHQ version.

Image

Reprofiled the edge bevel to ~7-9 dps using a Norton Crystolon coarse and then polished it using a Sigma Power Select II 240x and 1000x. Microbevelled at ~15 dps using an Atoma 1200 for 5 pps. Not as shiny as my usual edge finishes, but I've been playing around with seeing how much push cutting sharpness I can get off the Atoma 1200 recently.

As with the BHQ, I will only force a patina if I notice it picking up any surface rust in pocket, otherwise I'll let it patina naturally in use.

That is a wicked steep edge. Very nice.

Wow, guess I was just in time with my exchange. I mailed it to them a week ago, called today to check the status, and was told they'd be shipping my replacement today. Hope they sent me a good one!

Nice edge! Was that done freehand? I think I am too scared to accidentally ruin something this nice. Any tips?

Edit: This comment is all over the place. Sorry!
