1. Wow! The Military is an awesome knife, but it's kinda big. How about a smaller version, say 3ish inches? YEAH!

The Paramilitary is born.

2. Wow! The Paramilitary is an awesome knife, but it's a little on the small side. How about just a little bigger, say 3.5ish inches? YEAH!

The Paramilitary 2 is born.

3. Wow! The Paramilitary 2 is an awesome knife, but it's kinda big. How about a smaller version, say 3ish inches? YEAH!

The Paramilitary 3 is born. Or wait, have we circled back around to the Paramilitary 1 now? Just with full liners and 4 way clip?

Like the saying goes, there's nothing new under the sun.
Except the handle is shorter too, and the detent will hopefully be as strong as the current Para. I have lots of 3.5 inchers, but I don't use them. The Caly 3.5 is in my pocket now, but I'm thinking still of modding it to a Caly 3.25.

Check this out. I blacked the blade and put it beside another 3.5 and a 3...

I have come to the conclusion that a 3 inch blade is all that I require 95% of the time , and a 2.5 inch is nearly as effective .
So my Delica's either standard blade or Kahr are all that gets carried now .
The Kahr's length of blade has really impressed me , and if I could jump on a similar crusade as yours , I'd ask where are all the 2.5 inch blades in a usable sized handle .
I do have a 3.5 inch mutant that is very rarely called into action if I think the task justifies it .

I'm eagerly awaiting the 2.75" Slipit Metropolitan myself, hoping to hear some news about it soon.

I have a soft spot for the 3 inch blades. Bought my Sage one for that very reason. Wish I could have picked up a Caly 3 when they were around. I moaned and groaned over wanting Spyderco to make more 3 inch blades for a long time, it seems....screaming the loudest concerning the PM3. But, I have been carrying my PM2 so much, I realized I can accept a 3+ inch blade. All my Spydies since then (Double Bevel, GB1, PM2 Blurple) have been 3+ inches.

Pretty much carry my Delica daily as a work EDC, even took it along on a recent family camping trip. I've not bought a new Spyderco in quite some time. That said, I eagerly await the Lil' Temp 2.

I've also realized that most of my 3+ inch spydies weren't getting used much, and have modded 3 of em down to mini ~3" versions which I use incessantly now...

I really like that Para. Well done. Maybe get some black screws from a DLC version to match the blade.

yep, actually that one I grabbed specifically to mod. Thanks Jazz, your Delica wharnie was a big inspiration for this (merged w/ a PM3 lust)!

Yo Evil, for some reason the reflections are making the screws look plain, but they are indeed black ones!
here's a detail pic:

Thanks TBD! I love it, my favorite knife hands down. Hey, as a twin myself, do your boys have their own twin language? just curious...

They do. It gets frustrating as their parent sometimes when they "lock on" to each other and do not seem to hear anything I say. This is especially strong at the pool, they seem oblivious to anyone but themselves and they used to say words when they were little that we still don't know what it meant but they did, like "Dal-wee". They say they don't remember it, but we heard them both say Dal-wee to the other one and elicit laughter at least 50 times each

I really love that mini Southard, Dig Dug. I wish I could mod my all black version without ruining the finish.

Can you please explain the process of modding the para with perhaps more pics? I'm probably going to attempt it. Thanks. Love it.

Awesome! The twin bond is pretty magical, and my bro and I had are own language too. We're in our mid-40s and still best friends.
