Military Collection!

#1

Post by WireEdge Roger »

Knives come and go with me, but the one model I've tried to keep a collection of is the iconic Military! This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Military, I still remember seeing my first magazine ad for it back in 1996. I don't have every single version, but I do have all of the Sprints and Exclusives minus the Forum Military with Spyder inlay.

1996 ATS-34, all black, 2 screw clip
1996 ATS-34, fully serrated, 2 screw clip
2005 S30V & CF Sprint
2006 BG-42 & CF Sprint
2007 CPM-D2 & Foliage Green G-10 Sprint
2008 S90V & CF Sprint
2009 S30V & Digicam G-10 Regular Production
2009 S30V & Orange G-10 Limited Run
2010 CPM-M4 & Black G-10 / Ti Framelock Exclusive
2011 S30V & Fluted Ti Framelock Limited Run (non ano version)
2011 CTS-XHP & Brown G-10 Sprint
2012 M390 & CF Exclusive
2013 S90V & Blue G-10 Exclusive
2013 CPM-Cruwear & Gray G-10 Sprint
2016 CTS-204P & Dark Green G-10 Exclusive
2016 CF & 52100 Sprint

This pic has them in order, left to right working downward

This is pic is no particular order.

Holy Cow.....if I could have a collection of any model Spyderco has it would no doubt be the Military.
I am very envious. Nice job!

Awesome collection Roger! I've had a few Millies come and go, by the 204P version, with its improvements, has reignited my love for the model. Can't wait for the CF/Ti version, and once the improvements carry over, I'll get a fluted Ti.

Superb
Warhammer 40000 is- basically- Lord Of The Rings on a cocktail of every drug known to man and genuine lunar dust, stuck in a blender with Alien, Mechwarrior, Dune, Starship Troopers, Fahrenheit 451 and Star Wars, bathed in blood, turned up to eleventy billion, set on fire, and catapulted off into space screaming "WAAAGH!" and waving a chainsaw sword- without the happy ending.

I agree, I really like the several CQI improvements! Really looking forward to the S110V and S90V future versions.

I've carried them all! The CPM-D2 version might have the most use. I'm alternation between the 204P and 52100 versions this summer.

Nice Roger, which one is your favorite?

Out of all mine its a toss up between my Cruwear with new custom micarta scales and the M4 exclusive. Just got another 52100 in the mail today so now I have a user and will start carrying it so that might change.
Happy to be part of this great forum and group of down to earth spyderco addicts, Thanks Sal and gang.

I like them all for different reasons. The BG-42 model is right up there, as is the CPM-D2 model. The new 204P and 52100 models are super awesome with their steels and CQI improvements. So as of today, those two are my current favs :D

2005 S30V & CF Sprint -- that one has been in my pocket consistently over the last 10 years. :)
