3rdgen is bang on. Initially I tried to do a natural patina with apples. 30 apples later the patina was dull and barely noticeable. I had some time on my hands so I decided to try mustard. I got the best results with smaller lines of mustard as opposed to globbing it on from the bottle. How well does it flip LC?

An old friend is with me at work today. This is my first Spyderco, freshly re-sharpened from almost-dull. In a related note, I have found that you can indeed sharpen ZDP-189 to sharp with the Sharpmaker without the coarse rods; it just sucks. I'm just glad to have this one back in my pocket. I carried it exclusively for a year before I bought the next one.

It flips great! I have read that some people weren't happy with theirs so maybe I got lucky. It flips as well as my Southard, rubicon, positron...ok not as good as my domino. It's a great little knife to be sure.HarleyXJGuy wrote:

One of my all time favorites. I'm not even a big fan of carbon fiber, but that is just an incredible knife and carries and operates so well. I like the early Dino jimping, too.
Leeroy37, did you sand the peel ply off of yours, or did they actually sell a version like that? I have a Native 4 with cf like that. I wasn't aware of a Stretch like it.
