Didn't know that Mr. Moran was your uncle. That'd explain your fondness for knives in general and Spyderco in particular.
Whenever I hear "Uncle Bill", I think of both Bill Martino from Himalayan Imports (speaking of awesome bowies, check out their Ang Khola Bowie!) and Willem DeThouars, a martial arts instructor. Of those two, I refer to Mr. Martino as Uncle Bill as I enjoy his cantina and because he never taught kuntao or silat to Steve Gartin.

*heh-heh!* Well, I guess its very Asian to call elderly strangers "uncle" although they are not related.. Uncle Bill is sorta like a fitting respect.. His knives are awesome!

As a lifelong resident of Texas, I've always been amazed at how quick the knife industry is to dub any spearpointed fixed blade as a Bowie... 11 inches overall? Heck, let's start with an 11 inch BLADE and we can start talking BOWIE knives
