2016 Oregon Knife Show, April 9-10, Eugene OR

#1

Post by RadioactiveSpyder »

Hi everyone,

The 2016 annual Oregon Knife Show is being held April 9-10 in Eugene, Oregon. I'm really hoping Spyderco will be setting up a booth there once again, since I'm absolutely determined to make it up this time! I'll be bringing my favorite customized Spydies to show off to Sal, Eric and the Crew, and of course other fellow forumites that can make it. :D

Let's hear from who's coming and who may be coming! Cheers, Radioactive :)

Hmmm..I'll have to look at my schedule. If I'm not on call with work this would be a great excuse to go visit my sister in Portland!!

Hey, that sounds like fun! I recently heard Spyderco attends this show with new prototypes in tow. ;) Too bad I live on the other side of the country. :o

Ah the Oregon knife show. It's so close to me yet so far. Every year I have hopes of attending but it never seems to pan out. Maybe this year?...

Wait, "Largest Cutlery Show East & West of the Mississippi River". Am I missing something?

Seems like another great knife show, wish there were more out this way.

I just talked to the wife and she didn't say no! So that's half the battle.

I'll be there Saturday and Sunday with my son-in-law who is fairly new to knife collecting. I met Sal, Gail and Eric at the OKCA show back in 2007 i believe it was and am looking forward to meeting the forumites that will be there at this next one.

My family will be there. I'm at T10 and Martin will be at T11. Spyderco usually has a table and sells some seconds an other knives to club members Friday. They usually show prototypes Saturday. I'm in my 25th year at the show and there has always been something from Spyderco in my show envelope for venders or table holders. There are some great displays around the perimeter of the room. Saturday and Sunday there are demonstrations running continually. It is a very well run and organized show. It is the only show I have done every year for the last 25 years...Ed

Hello Ed,

Just curious, will Martin will be demonstrating his knapping skills this year?

Would people there accept trades for knives or do they generally prefer you to simply purchase the knives they have displayed?

I would love to go to something like this. I wish there were shows like this in the DFW area.

There are many traders at the show, usually older traditional pieces. You can always ask...Ed

Is there a list of past/current participants, Ed? Trying to figure out if a particular custom maker will attend without bothering them :)

Hi Ed. Would it be possible to pick up a couple of your forged spydie tiles at the show if you have any made?

You can count on the usual Spyderco Crew being there, in the same table location at the end of the aisle!
