That is a great looking knife right there. I really like that blade design and think it would be very useful in edc. Beautiful piece. But from what I read and see it looks smaller than a Native and without a choil. Is that correct? If so it might be a little too small for my mitts. Which sucks because that blue looks great on that blade.
Bacon. Sometimes beer, but mostly bacon. I like Spydercos.

Ruarch,
Well I'm not sure just how big the Native is so I'm afraid a can't say anything about that.
However I found this picture at "Spydercollector" and that seems to be a good way to hold the knife.

I guess you have to feel and play with it before you decide if this is a knife for you.

Cool looking knife. I especially like the blue handle with inlay. I don't like recurves and tip-down so I'll pass on this one.

I'll have to side with you, except not crazy about the blue (regular Titanium my absolute favorite) I don't like the tanto look, I don't have a single knife with inlays (0 of 200+)...and for me it's just to small....N5 is about the smallest I can smoothly operate....so that makes it just a little to pricey for a collection only piece....but that's what I love about Spyderco, they go all different directions, not just one style...everyone can find a knife they feel was made just for them...or maybe even a few of them.

Well okay, the world is not so big as one would think.
Sure Vrango will be for sale in Gothenburg, heck even at Vrångö. The knife haven't been released yet but when it does, you just swing by with you boat :)

That is an interesting design, sort of a modified tanto combined with a skinner.

I'm conflicted about grabbing one of these (I would like to pick one up eventually) with all the exclusives and sprints coming up and some others I want more. Whats the hives take on these, anyone thinking about grabbing one? I'm thinking they aren't going to disappear right away so probably going to wait until a few others buy and report.
Happy to be part of this great forum and group of down to earth spyderco addicts, Thanks Sal and gang.

That's great to hear! Hopefully that means the other dealers will be getting theirs in soon.

I have my pre-order in with KW. Looking forward to seeing this one in person soon!

Eating, and having a roof over your head are over-rated :D.

Seems like there have been a number of Spyderco's which were "unique" enough that neglected to pick one up, only to find that they appealed to me, *after* they were discontinued and unavailable. I decided to make sure I didn't miss out on this one. Though I am trying to keep enough money around to get some of these wonderful Sprints on the way too!

Looks like a useful design for a full-time fisherman

but why S30V and not m390, or even Elmax? Salt water destroys s30v.

maybe even a clad?

How can I have missed this masterpiece so far?
I've not felt that "OMG where is my credit card"-feeling since I saw a picture of the Hungarian Folder the first time.
Some absolutely splendid work there, Mike!

One thing that puzzles me is the steel selection. If that knife is intended as a EDC in the salty archipelago of Göteborg, how will S30V handle the environmental challenge?

Never the less, the knife is a must have for this Swedish sailor.

Oh, I almost forgot to thank you for joining the forum! It's great to be able to communicate direct with the designer.

Hi guys!
I'm in New Jersey right now at the ECCKS show witch will start tomorrow.
I have the Vrango folder with me so for those that are attending the show, swing by my table and have a look at the knife.
As far as the steel choice, well that was something Spyderco choose.

I have been carrying the knife for a while now and I think it is a great EDC folder. I love the ergonomics and performance. A great knife!

Woo Hoo! My KnifeWorks order for the Vrango has been upgraded to "Ready to Ship!"

I should have mine sometime next week. Don't know when I'll get a chance to go fishing anytime soon, so I'll have to find ways to use it around the house :).
