No Edge-U-Cation paper?

#1

Post by codesters »

Hey everyone,

Just got my very first Spyderco today, the classic Paramilitary 2 in satin and I love it! This thing cuts like razor, feels great in my hand and is everything I expected out of a quality knife.

One thing though - Knifeworks didn't give me the "certificate" I thought I was supposed to get with the PM2. Is it normal for some knives not to come with it or did they forget to throw it in the box?

Some models, generally the most common versions of in house designed ones, do not come with any "paperwork". I don't own any PM2's, so I can't say for sure, but unless yours uses one of the more exotic steels, I suspect the absence of an Edge-U-Cation sheet is normal.

My PM2 is as regular as production models go (black G10/S30V), so that makes sense. With all the fake PM2s going around I really wanted to make sure I got the real deal which is why I ordered from Knifeworks - and the chances of getting a counterfeit from them are pretty much zero.

I'll go back to enjoying my new knife now. :)

Some knives (not necessarily the PM2) later had the papers but earlier ones did not. It was a rolling-change/CQI (constant quality improvement).

If you bought from Knifeworks I surely would go about your enjoyment :). Barring some type of Ethan Hunt high-wire caper the chance of you having a fake is virtually nil.

Knife Works is great, excellent, superb. Their Spyderco knives are genuine. You can also read the Edge U cation in the Spyderco catalog. Did you order one yet?
