Chris,
Use that sucker! Mine has been fine, despite it's fine, pointy tip.

Have no fear and enjoy your Dodo. Mine has a really fine tip, too.

Dodo is a great knife. Any knife with a great handle like this should USED. Just don't use your Dodo as a screw driver, paint scraper,or metal cutter and you will be ok.

I second gull wing's comments. Don't use the Dodo for any of those type of lateral stress / prying type of situations (same as any knife, really) and the S30V seems to hold up fine.

I very slightly chipped the edge on the tip of mine once when I was cutting through a really tough plastic bundling strap, but it was a small enough chip that it was easily buffed out with a few strokes on the Sharpmaker greys.

Obviously, the Dodo isn't designed to replace a beefy camping knife, but it seems to hold its own on just about any everyday task and definitely begs to be carried often...

That tip is a drag once you drop it on the pavemant, tip first of course. I was wearing a bitter hat for a while but eventually got it fixed up myself. it is not as fine as it was but cut as well as ever.
