Finally bought my first handmade custom

#1

Post by defenestrate »

It's a small fixed Tim Scholl in 15N20 with dyed stabilized box Elder burl. Went to Dixie gun and knife yesterday, and I had to buy one because I've been a fan of his work for ages and I can finally afford to spend that kinf of money on a knife for both aesthetic and utilitarian purposes. PRetty friggin stoked.

Will take a better picture later but just wanted to come here and tell ya'll because most people will think I'm crazy outside of a few local fellow afis and knife groups in facebook.

That is really nice craftsmanship, I am glad you got it. Is this the same Dixie Gun Works that puts out the thick catalog for about 5 dollars and has all sorts of knife blades, finished knives, and frontier reproduction and fur trade era goods as well as muzzle loaders?

I also like the sheath on that, it reminds me of the Scandinavian puukko sheaths that enclose the knife halfway up to the handle for safe keeping. One of the best sheaths.
