Mantra Maker's Mark

#1

Post by BrianMcCord »

Has anyone seen this variation before? It is missing the crossbar on the Glesser "G" portion of the mark.

Any thoughts?

Haven't seen that before and I'm not near my spydie hoard right now to check. Looks like a mis-etch to me.

I believe that indicates a design by Eric Glesser vs. the one on the PM2 which was a joint design by Sal and Eric.

Yeah, that is Eric's mark. If you look at a Para2 they are both on there.

I think he might be referring to the arrow on the end of the Eric's makers mark not making a full ^ on one side. That's at least what I thought OP was talking about

Duh! I should read better before I type.

No, I have not seen that before. The Blurple Para2 in my pocket has the full arrow.

My Taichung made Dice is the same as your Mantra so there must be a slight variation between Taichung and Golden.

Just checked my Domino and it also has the full arrow. I'll try and get a pic of my Dice tomorrow in the daylight.

In reading the subject line I thought the thread was all about Maker's Mark® Bourbon and Mantra flippers! :D

Perhaps it's a new variation of Eric's logo?

I was thinking that, too. Drop the Glesser part, and just have a cool 'E'...kinda like Dad :spyder:

I wonder if this is common...or if it has been identified by Spyderco. None of my Golden models have this variation.

I'm pretty happy it came this way. Gives it character...

I don't think it was intentional, or if anyone else noticed. Have to back and check now.

My Mantra 2 has the full arrow. Got my black cf Domino out to compare, it feels like a beast compared to the Mantra 2. :spyder:
