Dailex- Thank you so much for your email- I confess I did wonder where you'd gone off to. I'm sorry about the crashing of your PC ( good ol' modern technology, eh'? ) Please take care and someday when I arrive in Romania. ( It COULD happen, who knows ) Kali

My take on the concept of
self preservation with any knife -

I tend to go along with Fred Perrin on the
use of a knife ; it's goning to be really difficult to explain 40 slashes to an
opponent's body.

I had been robbed at gunpoint in the Elm City ( i.e. New Haven ) twice without the incident ending in bloodshed ; there's a clause in the so-called laws of the State's with regards justifiable lethal force and if
you end up on the wrong side of that
clause, you're looking at some time in the State peniteniary . A good companion to The Spyderco Story would be Massad F. Ayoob's In the gravest extreme : the role of the firearm in personal protection while dealing with firearms, if I remember correctly, Ayoob goes into the concept of
justifiable lethal force
rather in-depth.

OBTW - WELCOME!
