Since most of my knifemaking is done with forged hi-carbon steel or titanium, I haven't had much of a chance to work with the exotic steels. Does Spyderco send the blades out for hardening after machining, or is everything done in house after blade shaping? I realize that it is possible to machine pre-hardened metal, but the wear on the machines must be tough.
