$300 for a new EDC spydie or two
I need some advice, looking to pick up a new spydie, or two maybe, and I need some advice on what's good, I'm open to almost anything, just has to peak my interest, discontinued or not, I need ideas, I got a new pm2 and feel like I need to buy something to carry alongside it. Any advice is appreciated :spyder:

I'd go with a watch pocket knife...Manbug ZDP-189 or VG-10...I got 'em both and it's a toss up each morning as to which one gets packed...but one of them ALWAYS gets packed!
Ladybug is great also if you prefer that blade shape...but I prefer the strategic jimping & larger Sypderhole of the Manbug...
Lot of knife in a package that is almost like carrying NOTHING...
An original Kiwi is a classy small knife unlike anything ever made by any cutler. Very ergonomic & unique if you desire a Wharncliffe blade with no belly. Of note also, the Kiwi has no pocket clip, if that option is important to you.
For $300, you could opt for a discontinued Kopa from a secondary mkt. in an exotic handle material to REALLY class it up. Plus it has a pocket clip & a more leaf shaped blade than the afore-mentioned Kiwi. I'm partial to the honey jigged bone, stacked wood, & Tiger Coral.
Happy Hunting & let us know what you settle on!

The Techno is a good suggestion but I much prefer his Slysz Bowie. Both are very well built knives.elena86 wrote:Techno

Lance, my first thought was the Slysz Bowie too. Seriously, they don't call this knife the "Sebenza killer" for nothing. It is very well worth the price, IMHO. You will likely have some cash left over, so I'd recommend getting a Sharpmaker too.

My first idea was Slysz Bowie but he mentioned he wants something to carry alongside his Para2.That's why I suggested Techno.

A Salt series in SE. A Lil Matriarch in SE or PE. A Dragonfly or Chappie for using around sheeple. Enough left over for a Sharpmaker.
Just looking to suggest something that wouldn't be redundant to the PM2.
In all honesty I would get a Sharpmaker, a SE knife, and a very high end multitool. Let us know what you get! :)

Bacon. Sometimes beer, but mostly bacon. I like Spydercos.

I no this might sound weird but if you can find a used hinderer xm 3inch in spanto I would try that .in one pocket you have a sweet slicer on the pm 2 .then the ultra tough spanto grind on the xm would make a definite all around tough two blade edc set up that can do all.if only spyderco get the full titanium native or a yojimbo 2 .

Manix 2, Military and Native 5. With your PM2, you would have a well-rounded assortment to select from.
Re: $300 for a new EDC spydie or two
I still say full titanium native thats a beast and small.and you were worried b4 you got youre pm2 about the size right?the military would be to big and its the same grind just a little bigger no need for that.the titanium native is just a awesome blade pluss if you want you can anodize it.the cf native 4 is also realy nice .you also have the yojimbo 2 the warncliff grind is very usefull.I also say if you can get a used spanto xm thats the best partner.you can pry and all other hard uses that the thin blade the pm2 cant.even a used xm looks new the stonewashing covers allot up and you can get different scales.alsp you can get it totally restonewashed.

Slysz Bowie and a Manbug....
Re: $300 for a new EDC spydie or two
Given that you want something to carry alongside a PM2, and given that a PM2 is a medium-large, plain edge with a traditional blade design, I would say that a very complementary knife would be a smallish, spyderedge hawkbill. So, my pick would be a Tasman Salt. It not only has a totally different set of cutting applications for which it is optimal, compared to the PM2, but it is 100% rust proof. Lastly, you will have lots of money left over.

I'm liking the idea of something serrated, does anything come in g10? I really like the g10 on my paramilitary 2.

My $300 Spydercos are some of my favorite knives. The one that stands out above the rest though is the Slysz Bowie. That is one fantastic knife in every way! I agree with those that suggested the Techno, as it too is a very nice knife for considerably less money, but the Slysz Bowie is my suggestion.

A harpy would be a good partner for a Para 2
