I wonder why we didn't see a FRN sprint before this. In my head a FRN M390 or K390 would be a really nice model and it probably wouldn't break the bank.

It's been a couple of months so it seems like time for an update! As expected the Ti scales on mine are showing normal signs of use, which is no big deal. Interestingly the anodized "bug" still looks 100% blemish-free. That makes sense since oxides are so hard. Fully anodized or even nitrided scales would be an interesting proposition for future spydie.

The Elmax experience has been mostly good. I finally had to touch-up the edge not long ago, but sharpening this stuff is easy. I got the best results by hitting it at 30 degrees on the brown rods and then calling it done. Slicing performance declined when I went to the white rods. It could be poor technique on my part but I suspect a "toothier" edge is just better for what I do.

The only minor issue I've had was a little bit of spotty surface rust once when I didn't clean the blade in timely fashion. (I sliced an apple, couldn't get to a sink, and then forgot about it for a couple of days...entirely my fault.) It didn't pit, though, so it's a non-problem. i'll just have to remember that super steels like this demand a little more TLC than their more forgiving cousins.

Overall I'm still really happy with this little knife. Most of my pocket time goes either to this or to my FRN Pingo.

Great mini review. I still have not jumped on the Ti, but use the fire outta my Orange Pingo. I can't help but wonder how this model would work with the Phantom Lock on the Meerkat?? I really love the Pingo as an EDC
