Loading the Kindle for holiday and I realise I've never read any of the Ian Flemming James Bond novels....Looks like my holiday's going shaken and not stirred ;)
Warhammer 40000 is- basically- Lord Of The Rings on a cocktail of every drug known to man and genuine lunar dust, stuck in a blender with Alien, Mechwarrior, Dune, Starship Troopers, Fahrenheit 451 and Star Wars, bathed in blood, turned up to eleventy billion, set on fire, and catapulted off into space screaming "WAAAGH!" and waving a chainsaw sword- without the happy ending.

I love the bond books! I have only read a couple so far, as I tend to have a hard time finding them at any old/used book stores (I like physical copies).

So far I have read 'From Russia, With Love' and 'The Man with the Golden Gun'

They are fantastic and really take a different approach when compared to the movies.

As for my next book, I will be reading 'Desert Solitaire' by Edward Abbey after I finished 'Go Set A Watchman' the other day.

Is this one different somehow? I know the final chapter was omitted originally, but the version I read had it put back in.

I'm reading Blood Meridian. First time reading it in print, and it's easier than I expected. I've listened to the audiobook 4 or 5 times, probably my favorite book of all time. I might have a problem...

I just finished The Atlantis Gene for some escape. Very exciting.

Now I am reading Firmly I Believe: An Oxford Movement Reader. Pretty good.

Yes my fellow Droogie, I believe the last chapter was omitted from the original US versions and also the film, a self reformed character probably wasn't as interesting as an ultra violent one :p

Btw, every time young Alex mentioned his "britva/razor", I kept seeing the Spyderco Roc. If they ever re-make the movie then they have to use that knife :D

I haven't visited the forum much lately, but have read a few books. I play a dabbling of video games on console (xb1), and have been reading extended universe books for the Halo games, specifically the Forerunner Saga by Greg Bear. I really enjoyed them and it made a lot about the games, especially Halo 4 and 5, clearer. I also have read A Clockwork Orange (which did have the last chapter), and started another of the Halo books!

I'm pretty deep into Randal Collins' Violence: A Micro-sociological Theory. It's pretty good, if you are into that sort of thing.

Oh, boy! I haven't been here in a while, so I have read a variety of books.

Most recently, I have read 'Kingsblood Royal' by Sinclair Lewis, which was a great book about racism in the mid '40s. Then I read 'Casino Royale' by Ian Fleming, and it was fantastic. I love the bond books, and my siblings got me a whole set of the 14 fleming books. I am currently reading 'The Inferno' by Dante Alighieri which is a book I may have to read again just because of the depth and complexity of it.
