Little Big Knives again...

#1

Post by thombrogan »

Right now, my EDC lineup is a black G10 Dodo for my left-front pocket, SE s-curved Meerkat for my right-front pocket, and a generic Swiss Army-style slipjoint. On the weekends, I replace the Meerkat with my red Salsa.

Recently, I tried switching out my Dodo with both my ATR and my Benchmade 806D2. The Benchmade felt odd and I just wanted more discreet carry than the ATR, so back to the Dodo it was.

Do any other Little Big Knife users have trouble going back to mid and large-sized folders?

thombrogan,
I just tried my paramillie at work this week. Very light and thin, but still a little too intimidating in an office environment. I came back to my Ti Salsa. For me a perfect fit at work.

G10 Rookie SE has been my normal EDC for many years. Occasionally slip the Gunting, or Endura in there but find an FRN Cricket has become an almost constant companion. There's not really a question about switching back to mid sized knives as I will never be without the Rookie or larger. I find however that since I use both on a daily basis, I'm uncomfortable without the a Cricket, Meerkat, or Navigator sized 2EDC.

Had to "relegate" my Spydercard to my bag, otherwise I would stop carrying anything else. I mean it is no comparison to a "real" knife (I mean no disrespect, the Spydercard is a real knife...but you know what I mean ;-) ) but is more than enough for the daily tasks, and it is so slim it disappears in the pocket.

Know what you mean, HoB! Were my Meerkat plain-edged, I'd be depressed because it'd do 99% of what I want a knife to do and the other 1% would be handled by a khukuri.

Dodo (two days old for me) in black G10 for my left-front pocket and a Military in my rear pocket. At work I add a Superknife or a Meyerco Razor knife to my belt as a beater box cutter. The guys at work laughed at the Dodo... (little do they know )

Dodo for sure is one of my constant EDC's. The blade will handle about most suff and the handle is great. I also have a larger knife too on me EDC so I always have the bases covered. Calypso LtWt is also an amazing little/big knife. I think a choil really makes a little knife feel big...for me anyways. It also helps big knives(Millie) feel more manageable in the hand due to the choil. Take the Kiwi, quite small but very hand filling. Take Care!!!

You know, that's funny. I was into little knives and now I feel the need for a bigger one (like the Millie)

When wearing my dressier pants at work, I like a smaller knife for in the pocket carry. They are also sheeple friendly. When in my jeans, I have no trouble reverting back to my Military, LLC, or Sebenza.
