Uploading cell phone pics

#1

Post by dubya3 »

I don't own a computer (never needed one) and do all my surfing on my Galaxy note 3. I've been able to post pictures on multiple other forums but can't figure it out on this one, I believe I need to resize the pictures? Has anyone figured out how to post from a phone or a easy way to resize pics? I'd much rather post actual photos instead of a photobucket link.

I use a Note 4, which I'm on right now just to see how it's done. I usually upload to Photobucket but I also use a PC a lot.

I'm currently using Chrome as a browser.

First you need to be in "full editor mode" on the forum, as opposed to "quick reply". There's a button by the text box you'll see. Then once you get in the page that has the full editor, down below the text field you'll see two " tabs" where the first one says Options and the second one says Attachments, and you want the second one. Then click the Add Files button, and that'll open up a window from your phone that gives you options for either taking a pic, video, or going through your documents. Click documents, and that'll take you to another page where you can go down to Gallery and that takes you to your phone pics album.

Now as you guessed, file size is an issue. So if your camera is set to take max resolution pics, you'll need to edit them in your phone to a smaller size before you upload. You could also get a Photobucket account or similar pic hosting account, and upload your pics there to full resolution, and then copy them into your post.

If you want to use photobucket, imgur or similar, you still can. It's what I do. Just use the image source (Long tap on the image, select copy image source). Then post using the [img] tags with the image URL in the middle of them. Don't just post a link to a photobucket page the image is hosted on.

Thank you, both of you. I have a photo bucket account and app on my phone but posting a link is kind of boring. I used to take a picture, send it to myself through text message and save it to my phone again (text automatically resizes it) and that's worked on most forums I'm a member if but not here. I'll see if it works by saving pics off photobucket.

Vivi, I'll try that too. I was wondering how that worked but I'm so computer illiterate....

Awesome, so I uploaded pics to my photobucket then saved the photo from there and used the resized image. Works well, thanks again!

So that's my new PM2 thanks to member "Nate" :)

I don't want to use a secondary app to host and would like to upload from phone. I use Snapseed. Could anyone tell me images dimensions that are the most appropriate?
