hehehe okay now that I got all your attention.. man I was looking online at some of the reviews of smaller Spyderco knives.. and I saw at Emergency Options, a yahoo store.. they had the Dodo for only 78.99 sooooooo <img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> it will be here 2 day air. This fills my need for a little blade.. the handle i am sure is gonna fit my hand like my Lil Temp. hehe soo i feel lucky, a Special Father/Son designed dually of knives.. <img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>.. only down part is today i was changing the Lil's grip back to tip up.. and theone top clip screw snapped.. so I only have three screws holding the clip on, could of been a defective screw.. or this being my first g-10 knife.. maybe the g-10 is stronger than the steel screws <img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> I am sure this will not be a problem seeing as how four screws is more than i have ever seen for a clip (the lum only has three).. but i figure I will send it back to Co. some time this year <grin> to have the screw bottom taken out.. and a new one put in.. but Man.. a Sharpmaker 204 on the way.. and now a Dodo.. hehehe the things a small raise can do for ya <img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> I feel like a boy in a toy store

thanks!

Okay, Tainteddiabolicalbovine, now that you have usurped my attention…..is there really some progeny in the oven ...er.... offering – a Badevilcalf, so to speak – or is this just a method to garner attention and divert it to Spydies?????? (Starting your own thread and immediately drifting. That’s worse than java! Good on ya!)

If that includes the shipping: that’s a good price on the Dodo. Congratulations. As far as snapping the screw, that’s almost unheard of. Don’t remember seeing E-Z Outs that small. Usually the G10 gives and you’re stuck with using something like blue Loctite threadlocker. You might give Mike at SFO a call to see if they have any recommendations or see if they can repair the Lil’ Temp.

Good luck

Actually, the part with the screw doesn't seem to be so uncommon assuming that "snapping" means stripping the screw. Happend to me aswell, changing to tip up and I know of another Lil' Temp owner who had the same trouble. I found it is really important not to tighten the screws too much but just so that they sit tight and then to use some thread locker. I send mine in and Spyderco fixed the problem, but soon after I had it back I bend the clip (the clip caught a door) and had to remove it to bend it back into shape and found that at least 3 of the 4 screws were slightly stripped comming back from Spyderco. But I found that if you pick out the threadlocker from the screws very thoroughly, you can thread the clean screw (very carefully and preferably not one that is already stripped) in to the hole without the clip to clean out the hole. After rotating it in and out a few times and using threadlocker I was able to install the clip again with all four screws.
I don't know why this problem seems to be so common with the Lil' Temp. My CF Delica doesn't have that problem at all.

Hey, thanks for the Quick replys.. yeah Java.. i totally used the ninpo diverting attention while i slip a spydie in move <img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> No kids here, <thankgod> <i thinks kids are great, so please no flames.. just not ummmm for me, yet <img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>> nope, shipping was 9 extra for second day air.
sooooo.. the screw came off like a cap on a mushroom, or the top of a muffin.. when you look into the top, you can see the bottom on the screw flush in the liner.. like the rest.. but the top part just went 'click' and flipped off.. really crazy.. so i have this screwed in broken part.. like i said.. it's not bothering me or anything <after the first 2 minutes of saying 'crap' heh> but i'll prob send it in when i feel i can part with it,. Oh well, I suspose the more they hear about any thing pro or con, the more revisions/improvments/evolutions can be had.

Thanks in advance,

How strange - I too have a screw problem on the clip of my Lil'T - one of the screws won't come out - the slots are not a perfect cross shape and my screwdriver just keeps slipping and stripping because it can't get a good enough purchase.
