Thanks to Ohio MBCers

I'd like to thank everyone who participated in this weekend's MBC Level 1 and 2 and Martial Stick Craft classes in Grove City, Ohio. As always, we attracted a super group of people that was truly motivated to practice and learn. And, as always, we covered a ton of information and developed a lot of usable skills and reflexes in an incredibly short period of time. Thank you all for your support!

Also, a huge thanks to Dave Holloway and his assistants Elaine, Bryan, Josiah, and Chris for their outstanding support and for giving the MBC program a home.

Stay safe,

Mike,
Thanks for presenting an effective Knife self defense system which develops a skill level that can be retained under stress.
This program will enhance the empty hand techniques of a Martial Artist, give the Street Cop another tool in the Use of Force Continuum, and still be effective for any mature Man or Woman concerned with self defense issues.
Dave Holloway and his students are always available to help class participants with any type of problem.
It was also nice to work out with old friends (Mike Sastre,Tom) and meet new formites like Brownie.
It looks like Mike Janich will be able to provide this area with a viable Knife defense system in the future.Check out his website for more info.

Mike,

Great class you held in Grove City this last weekend. Really enjoyed meeting up with you and training.

A pleasure meeting the people who attended. Dave Holloway was a pleasure working with and a most helpful host of the event.

Mickey, it was my pleasure finally meeting you and your lovely wife in person at the event.

To all the others who attended, I extend a hearty thanks for the training opportunity and the great company over the weekend.

Felt right at home in Ohio which would not have been possible without Mike and Dave being the people they are.

As to the training:

We were enlightened with two days of defensive knife by Mike who imparts the knowledge in a progrsssive, logical order so that most everyone is able to understand and perform the tasks and drills necessary to develop reflexive reactions with a folder to various angles of attack by another.

I firmly believe that Mikes MBC courses can and do bring people with little or no skills in edged weapons to a level of acceptable proficiency where the basic angles/lines of offense/defense are understood, dealt with, and offer an acceptable resolution to being attacked.

Firmly based in the basics, the course I attended here is something everyone who carries a folder or straight blade for defense should have in their bag of tricks and knowledge base.

I believe the skills Mike imparted over the two days are essential in order to progress further in defensive knife tactics. To that end, Mike is providing an extremely valuable, necessary service to the knife community in general.

If you have not attended one of Mikes courses, you should make every effort to get to one of his MBC weekends.

I haven't seen this type of knowledge past onto others since 1995 through another instructor and believe these skills are absolutely mandatory for everyone who ever considerd carrying a folder with defense in mind.

Thanks to everyone for making this road trip well worth the drive time. I'll be returning in July for MBC 3+4. Hope to see some repeats and new faces there then.

Stay sharp

I touched bases with Harpdog Ray in Salt Lake City over the weekend as well. Looks like he may also be attending the cam.
