Any other time I could give you 100 quotes but not when asked... I quote movies pretty much daily.

I always liked this one, because even though he's about to shoot her in the head, he sees it as hurting himself more because he loves her..that's deep.

Kill Bill:

Bill: Do you find me sadistic? You know, I bet I could fry an egg on your head right now, if I wanted to. You know, Kiddo, I'd like to believe that you're aware enough even now to know that there's nothing sadistic in my actions. Well, maybe towards those other... jokers, but not you. No Kiddo, at this moment, this is me at my most...
[cocks pistol]
Bill: masochistic.
The Bride: Bill... it's your baby...

"We're not Mexicans, we're from out of town."

-Three Amigos

"Looks like somebody's been through here with the ugly stick"

"You cannot force open the petals of a flower...when the flower is ready, it opens itself up to you". "When do you think Karmen will open her flower to you?" "Tonight, or I will KILL HER!"

"We can go for a walk and you can kiss me on the verander". " Lips will be fine"

And this whole scene...that's one of my favorite movies. That's a hard trio of comedians to beat from that era.

A lot of good ones in the Kill Bill series, here are a few more.

"I am finished doing what I swore an oath to God 28 years ago to never do again. I've created, "something that kills people." And in that purpose, I was a success. I've done this because, philosophically, I am sympathetic to your aim. I can tell you with no ego, this is my finest sword. If on your journey, you should encounter God, God will be cut."

-Hattori Hanzo

"It's the wood that should fear your hand, not the other way around. No wonder you can't do it, you acquiesce to defeat before you even begin."

I am a bit of a movie buff/nerd and a big fan of the Criterion Collection (lots of Kurosawa). Have watched a bunch of films I'd probably never been exposed to otherwise though just because the white stripe and "Criterion" on the dvd spine would catch my eye at the library or pawn shop, etc... and I'd give it a chance.

One scene that stuck with me is from Bergman's Fanny and Alexander:
Oscar Ekdahl: My dear friends, for 22 years, in the capacity of theater manager, I've stood here and made a speech without really having any talent for that sort of thing. Especially if you think of my father who was brilliant at speeches. My only talent, if you can call it that in my case, is that I love this little world inside the thick walls of this playhouse, and I'm fond of the people who work in this little world. Outside is the big world, and sometimes the little world succeeds in reflecting the big one so that we understand it better. Or perhaps, we give the people who come here a chance to forget for a while, for a few short moments, the harsh world outside. Our theater is a little room of orderliness, routine, care and love. I don't know why I feel so comically solemn this evening. I can't explain how I feel, so I'd best be brief. My wife and I, and the rest of the Ekdahl family, my brother Carl, -I think Carl is here- We wish you all a happy and joyous Christmas. I Hope we meet again on St. Stephen's Day, strengthened in body and soul. Merry Christmas

I'm a huge Kurosawa fan as well, and enjoy watching Toshiro Mifune act. Criterion has also introduced me to a ton of films that I wouldn't have seen otherwise too.

While this may not be my absolute favorite line from a movie (though it's pretty dang good), this is far and away my favorite single movie scene. The cinematography is unmatched, the acting phenomenal (just look at Paul Newman's face as he realizes who is walking up behind him), the music perfectly complements the action, the simplicity of the sound design drawing our attention to the moment between the two actors, and it's all punctuated with a single line of dialog. I get goosebumps every time I watch this scene.

That's definitely an awesome scene, Kyle. Talk about two master actors at their best, and just a phenomenal shot with regard to lighting. Road to perdition was a pretty interesting movie, and definitely made you rethink "Tom Hanks."

Kind of apposite for this forum (and my signature line) but the classic
"Do you want know why I use a knife?...." The Joker- Dark Knight :D

"Game over man- GAME OVER!"-
Hudson- Aliens (Actually, probably the most quoted movie for me)

"Yeah....I've killed women and children. Killed pretty much anything that walked or crawled at one time or another. And I'm here to kill you, Little Bill"
William Munny- Unforgiven

"A man should always know his limitations"-
Dirty Harry Callahan- Magnum Force.

The Princess Bride is one of my all time favorite movies. They don't make movies like that anymore.

Yes sir, I most certainly agree. In fact, I watched it last night on TV. :) My uncle can basically quote this movie word for word--it's kinda' scary. I like the Goonies too. Good stuff.
