KOT: HideAway knife
KOT: HideAway knife
Any HideAway owners on the Forum? If so, how do you like yours?
I came on this while browsing (http://www.hideawayknife.com/main.php)and ordered one, the Curvy. Takes a while though.

I'm soon to be an owner, if that counts. I ordered a Satin Hybrid. It was just too cool to pass up.
(Though I'm kinda dreading having to import it, now that I know just how paranoid the idiots at the border can be. With my luck they'll confiscate it as a push dagger, or say that the "brass knuckle" type handle is illegal. Fools.)

I have one. I bought it as a utility knife, not a defensive knife. I wanted a small neck knife, highly controllable blade. Short list was La Griffe, Spot, and Hideaway.
I went with the Hideaway because of the capsule. I can cut something, then open my hand and manipulate it without putting the knife down, then close my hand and cut again. I find that's how most around-the-house tasks go (cut, then manipulate, then cut, then manipulate, etc.), so not having to put the knife down every time and still having full use of both hands was a nice differentiator.
It's worked out very nicely, just like I'd hoped.

I own a "straight" ground by Joe Blum, my wife owns a "straight" ground by Justin Gingrich, and both knives were much better than expected (exceeding my already high expectations!). N.B. Please don't make the mistake of trying to compare and contrast it with the La Griffe (it's not a better or worse design per se, but an altogether different mission). And it's important to note, that before you order one (for anyone interested), measure your digit size as described, otherwise it'll be too tight, or too sloppy. My and my wife's Hideaway knives fit perfectly! Rigged to fit a small Tek-LOK that I wear on my belt above my wallet, I've worn mine for almost a year, and not one person has noticed it!

I'm gonna order one of'em! Gimme the claw blade. The "heat" in CT will NO DOUBT categorize it as a "weapon". See what most here don't realize is that the cops shake
you down only if you look suspicious, or behave like an @$$hole.
I think it's a good EDC supplement!
Thanx for the "heads up" ED!

Let me win your hearts & minds, or I'll burn your **** huts down!
