GB duo. I don't carry or use the Air much, but I'm trying to overcome my fear of clip-less knives and change that.

The knife is sitting in a mortar which looks similar to the countertop. I hope mortar is the correct translation :winking-tongue

I actually bring and use the Waterway quite a bit in the outdoors, but for whatever reason very rarely post about it.
As long as not hours and hours of work are on the table (almost never the case in my use though) - for that I´d want a fatter, more handfilling handle - it is a great tool!

Today I used it for some food prep and batoning . For making that kind of kindling that can be seen in the pic, I actually find batoning a knife (also an unlocked folder blade) clearly more convenient than using a hatchet, plus I carry a knife anyway.
Just for some background to the rather ugly ;) pic and what kind of batoning I am talking about and really find a knife to be great in that capacity:

This is a wood fired oven in a remote shelter for railway workers, pretty high up on a steep mountain:
Where I live the railway often runs through narrow valleys and below steep mountain walls. So there have to be like huge fences or kind of galleries in order to catch rock fall and avalanches, so the railroad is protected. These fences often are thousands of feet up in the mountains, and sometimes pretty wild and steep trails or even kind of via ferratas lead up there so that once or twice a year some specialized railroad workers can climb up in order to check if the fences are still ok.
Pretty much no one except that few workers know about these trails, but luckily I do. :smirk

There are also some basic huts where the workers can take shelter, most times equipped with a wood stove, some benches and not much else.
There is prepared fire wood though - cut in the right length for fitting in the oven already, but in pretty chunky pieces.
For splitting those pieces into kindling I find that batoning works great and a knife actually IS "the right tool for the right job" ;)

Messing around in the garage, taking a break from splitting kindling and jamming to some music. Manbug is never far behind!

Goddard with me again... in the kind of "gym" I like: Morning sun, fresh clean air, view at the snowy mountains, more complex, whole body movements... good way to start the day
