To me they feel better than the G10 scales they make. I've handled the Para 2 and if I were still a fan of that model I'd own 2 or 3.Tristan_david2001 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 26, 2023 6:27 pmI definitely wouldn’t mind seeing the crucarta treatment done on the full size calypso and the jr. I have a slight preference to linen micarta because of its appearance but I really love how spyderco has executed the natural canvas micarta on the crucarta models as well, I’ve never held one in hand but they look like they have more surface texture to them which I like.

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??

not a shadow pic. The light reflected by the frozen ground must have overwhelmed the camera sensor and left the knife very much underexposed. Picture came out pretty bad, but still managed to capture the mood of an almost-Halloween-night-time-walk-in-the-forest quite well.
TRL Endura has been my outdoor/afternoon chores around the house knife of choice the last couple of weeks. I've really come to like these thin line FFG CE knives. Happy that I at least this time I found out before the knives became unobtainium.
It's been quite cold here lately, and yesterday evening as I had to cut something outside I realized how effortlessly I could one hand operate the Endura with my glove covered, slightly numb hands, without even looking at the knife. In and out of pocket was equally effortless. No issues. Anyways, I got this idea that if the weather stays like this for awhile I could force myself to switch to a new knife every afternoon to get an unscientific comparison of their WOHO-ness (winter one handed operation-ness). Well, that's the intention, but let's see how it goes. I'm a habitual creature, so I could very easily fail on that crucial switching part.

Same here. Though that’s a tough choice, If I had to only have a 1 for life edc folder I’m tempted to pick the c54 calypso because the blade length might be a little more versatile of a user. a bigger knife can be pushed into small cutting work but not the other way around. I quite like a 4” blade on a folder, but I think both sizes are great to have for different situations, (as well as the small gents size version of the family, the kopa). in my knife usage needs, I’m rarely using a pocket knife for something that a 3” inch blade can’t do. The calypso jr design is my most useful folder all around. Just a jaw dropping gorgeous blade.

Sure is! Was going to snap a pic at work but was too busy. Snapped that when filling a bird feeder when I got home.
