Native Chief, Native 5, and Lil Native all added to the CruCarta line would be awesome. I guess they had to save something for next reveal! :winking-tongue

I am guessing from previous history they would need to add liners to the Chief to get Micarta. Which would be a sweet model for sure.

Also, Caly 4 should be a surprise around the corner.👀

The calypso jr...

Agree, the Calypso Jr is an amazing design. It might be my choice if I could only have one.

Can we get the story on those scales?
So it all started one dark and scary night. I was in my crawl space fixing something when I felt the presence of something creepy. I looked around and didn’t see anything so back to work I went. Just as I was finishing, I looked up and bam! There was a huge snake staring at me. We exchanged pleasantries and I scurried out of there. Weeks later I can back to say hi and he had left all his belongings to find a better home. I miss him so much! I wish I knew where he went tho. It’s a mystery. I may never know. I hope he is in a more stable living space.
:winking-tongue

I definitely meant that two-tone burlap micarta, but that is one heck of a story!
I'm happiest with Micarta and Tool Steel.

Top four in rotation: K390 + GCM PM2, ZCarta Shaman, Crucarta PM2, K390 + GCM Straight Spine Stretch.

I rode my bike today too, after about a month off of cycling.

It's your bike and you can do what you want, so please take this just as a friendly notice.
Try to be careful with the stanchions of your fork and your rear shock. These are the two places, where scratches are not cosmetic and really can destroy your suspension long term. A scratch can happen in a blink of an eye. In this case the stanchions rest on wood but be careful, if its something different.
Hey that’s a great point, thanks very much! I’m new to mtb so I really appreciate it.

It'd be nice if it were practical for me to carry uncoated tool steels year round. Like you, I'm a big fan of the character they develop. This Chief has surprised me with how slowly its taken on a patina though. I've been tempted to force one but I want to let this knife build it up slowly.

The fixed blade patinas a little faster. It's got a rougher finish and SK5 is about on par with 1095 for corrosion resistance.

In my use it is REX 45 that patinas a lot slower than I would have thought (and actually hoped)...

But good thing: There actually also IS a really stainless steel that shows use and develops "character" very well (though by scratches and scars, not corrosion)... H1, as can be seen in my post above! :smlling-eyes
