Apologies for the delayed response, buddy! I meant, "When you get tired of this one [knife], just let me know ;)

But after hearing your story, I'm not sure if I'll be a fan of the scent it carries! :squinting-tongue
Seriously, major props for what you're doing out there! I hope you still manage to find some time to soak in the mountains and enjoy those last warm days...
By the way, how's the M4 holding up with all that IWB?

Ah, I see... :grin-big eyes - the knife!

Sorry, but I don´t think I´ll ever get tired of the Goddard. Absolutely love it!

If I totally had to decide for "only one" it would still be the Endura - but the Goddard comes really close. In the way it carries (really thin and light in pocket) it even "beats" the Endura.

For me the Goddards M4 generally is even better than I expected, especially in edge retention.
And no rust problems whatsoever, despite as you say a lot of iwb carry. But then it is coated, right?
And I am cutting stuff frequently enough that there is not a lot of chance rust could build up on the actual edge.
Top three going by pocket-time (update April 25):
- EDC: Endela SE (K390). Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10), Chaparral SE (CTS XHP)
- Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 2 SE (LC200N), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), Endela SE (K390)

Next time I'm having a rough day, I'm going to tell myself it could be worse. I could be shoveling **** like Gernot. ;)

I'm just kidding, seeing beautiful landscape here and camping typically means you got a get a little dirty too. Worth it for the views.
...
LOL! :rofl I don’t think I’ve ever laughed this hard at something on this forum before.

That’s just too funny! But as funny as it is, it’s a necessary job that needs to get done. And without good people like Gernot volunteering, it’s a service that wouldn’t be available otherwise.

Thanks, Nick! :smlling-eyes

Yes, it is voluntary work... kind of: I can stay and eat for free at the hut (not only when working) and have the keys when it is locked in the off-season, so I can be up there in fall or winter with skies or snowshoes, which is worth a ton to me!

Additionally, I really love physical work

But it is true: If me (and two or three other folks) would not do various jobs up there voluntarily, the alpine club running the hut would have to pay a lot of money: They´d have to fly workers up and down by helicopter (really expensive) and pay some bonus for working in the mountains, while I hike up there for free and don´t get paid.

Anyway: Not all work is hard work up there: Sometimes it is just about doing the laundry... (and yes, the Goddard had a tiny job to do: Cutting the excess clothes line...;) )

It is!

I allow myself to share the link to the hut again (unfortunately no English version) - give the startpage some time, the pictures change and there´ll come also a nice one from the winter time. https://www.leopoldhappischhaus.at/

And there is a picture gallery https://www.leopoldhappischhaus.at/huet ... ergalerie/

Wow! Looks Stunning! The hut is amazing. And it looks like the goats are the only ones to make it up there.
This is one of the view from the page.

Thanks Rick , love the 4 , most beautiful Wharnie blade in collection . It was gifted to me by a Forum member and great friend . I stopped to check on buddy and used his hand in back yard. I carry it for a few days and rotate to another smaller in right pocket . Dan
