Next time I'm having a rough day, I'm going to tell myself it could be worse. I could be shoveling **** like Gernot. ;)

I'm just kidding, seeing beautiful landscape here and camping typically means you got a get a little dirty too. Worth it for the views.

Kapara with me today.

LOL! :rofl I don’t think I’ve ever laughed this hard at something on this forum before.

That’s just too funny! But as funny as it is, it’s a necessary job that needs to get done. And without good people like Gernot volunteering, it’s a service that wouldn’t be available otherwise.

Mini Persian. Apologies for the back bevel, was made long ago when I didn't know what I was doing. Have never taken the time to even it out. Ever since I have just sharpened the micro bevel.

It's been a pretty rainy day overall, but I took advantage of a break in the rain for a short walk along the river. Thankful for the rain, it seems to always be dry here these days so I'll take a rainy day when we get it. Same old 15V PM2 again today.

I'm going to claim this Atlantic Salt, too. I gave it to my friend Randall, a record-holding adventure sailor. Here he is, using it of all things to cut out a rotten egg. Currently he is sailing from SF to Homer, Alaska. His blog, if interested:

http://figure8voyage.com/blog/

I also sent him a Swick. I'm curious whether he will use it or not. He balked a little at the wharnie's sharp tip; apparently many sailors prefer a bluntish sheepfoot over a wharnie -- or at least he does. The concern I am told is stabbing one's self by accident on high seas when the sailor's whole world is a slippery whirl of movement.

But I know his Atlat Salt is on him at all times and gets used heavily.
Bolster, thanks for posting the link to Randall’s blog, I just spent like 15 minutes reading some of it and it’s amazing what they encounter at sea…and great to see him using the Atlantic you gifted him 👏👊

Two things: First, Gernot - you’re a lean mean fightin’ machine and I can appreciate the hard work…Second, Jeff that photo is AMAZING 🤩

I never realized that the raffir noble scales were transluscent and allowed one to peek at the inner workings of the knife. Cool photo!

It's 5 face cord, not full cord. I should have been more clear. I've been getting it from this family for 9 years now, always nicely seasoned and split nicely. $110/per face cord and $50 for delivery for making 2 trips. They just dump it in our driveway.

I've been stacking firewood my entire life, as long as I can remember. My parents always had a wood burning stove, and it was a must for me when buying our house! I don't mind the physical labor and extra cost. Nothing beats that kind of heat!
