Awesome Eric. I personally love my ParaMilitary, and have no problem with the handle. Compression lock makes it one the smoothest actions I've ever handled!

What funny is some people can't quite figure it out when i give it to them to use!

Awesome! Now that I know you guys are watching, here's my 2 cents :D :

- slightly narrower and less of a hump in the handle will give it a more sleeker look (a la sebenza), and will be more in proportion with it's big bro.
- shorter handle/better blade to handle ratio
- Less pronounced butt-end of the handle (more like the civilians end would be nice)
- A change in color perhaps
- Most definately, get rid of the sharp corner on the blade when the knife is closed

And just for kicks, a photoshopped image :D :

sorry but i completley disagree with all of spygineer's post and since he brought it up, i figured i should speak up. i love the para's "little big knife" characteristics especially the blade to handle ratio.

i would like to see the sharp edge of the tang in the closed position dealt with and would love to see a low riding (possibly wire) clip.

I'm both excited and nervous about a new Para. Excited because progress is always good, nervous because I think this knife is just about perfect and really cannot be improved on.....

But enough talk - lets see some PICS!!! :p

Everyone is going on about the sharp tang on the blade. I have a D2 Para sitting in front of me as I type, that issue has been taken care of already. My advice: Don't mess with perfection, leave it as is.

wow, the only two issues that I had with this knife are already addressed in the first post. I've been looking at this one for some time now, and the only thing really holding me back is that tip down clip.

I'm gonna have to buy a few more Para's to make sure I'm covered for the small chance that I don't like the new Para.

I'd however love to test the snot out of a new one as the original Para has been my favorite Spydie and I own more than any other knife.

I just got the Para in D2 a couple of days ago. I love it. I'm not so sure really if I have any suggestions. What a great unit!

The more you use it the better it gets, I would buy several more D2 models if I had the money.

Sal,

Other than four way clip and G10 color change if you change anything else please still offer the current model. It is too good to be messed with and many of the wants could be filled by other knives. The Para is a classic. Update but please don't mess with the spirit. I know you will do the right thing, we all trust your judgment.

I don't really have an issue with the clip placement on the current Para. I really like tip up carry knives, so much so that I won't usually buy a tip down carry knife. I took a chance on the Para though and I'm glad I did, I don't actually think it would work better with tip up carry. It just seems to work well the way it is. Personally I wouldn't mess with a good thing, I hope any changes made are SMALL. :)

I love my para, too. If I ever want any change to the current design, it's only cosmetic, which is the protruding tang when closed :(
I remember Sal said he will do something about it :)
Since now he is playing with a new para prototype, I'm happlily awaiting the new para that will be aesthetically pleasing and functionally perfect!

Changes are small refinements on the ergos. I believe it is a better knife with the refinements Eric made.

Hopefully they also include the 4-way clip idea? Single clip position has really been the deal-breaker from my point of view as a lefty. If it wasn't for that, I would've jumped on the Para like a..a...something that jumps on things ;P
