I agree, it's a great price for the knife if it turns out like the Shaman did. I'm not a huge PM2 guy, but this would be tough to pass on. I likely won't be in the initial drop rush, but eventually. Especially considering it's supposed to become a production model.
I’m in a similar camp. The PM2 has never been my thing but the micarta shaman really kicked me off in a certain direction that’s hard to deviate from. Crucarta is gonna my first (and possibly only) PM2 as well as my first preorder now that I think of it. The materials and price were right for me so here we are.
Crucarta: Shaman (x2), Manix 2, Lil Native, Delica (x2), GB2, Para 3, PM2 and Millie 2
Notable: 52100 and Cruwear Millie. “15v-arta” Shaman. REC Manix. K-carta Endura, P4, Dragonfly and Delica.
Favorites: Shaman, all things Sage, Sheeps Caribbean, Manix, Endela and all things Stretch

Wait, doesn't the regular pm2 already has full liners ? What's the difference here ?
Nested liners VS full liners
I thought nested liners were more solid than full liners.

A nested liner means a thinned out section of scale material. If you're worried about the scale material, you could use thicker micarta or just make it a full liner and save on cost.

I've made my own research and stumbled upon that video : https://youtu.be/3y3dKIKKeRw
His own assumption is Spyderco made the micarta model with full-liners because micarta isn't as hard as G10, so full liners are needed to keep the handle as rigid as the regular G10. I think he's spot on.

Edit : Eric has already spoke about the rigidity concern of the micarta PM2... Shame on me for not having caught that during the stream : https://youtu.be/OvtBU9FAdz0

He's also calling for a Paramilitary 3 with a better lanyard hole that's easier to disassemble and contoured G10. I agree with it =P @sal.

If one wanted to pre order, is there a place you guys would recommend over another? Never pre ordered before.

At this point I wouldn’t recommend pre-ordering. If anyone was doing pre-orders, they have been open for so long you don’t stand a chance getting one relatively soon. You would be better off watching this thread and buying from a company that just lists them when they come out. Some of my favorites are DLT trading, KnivesShipFree, RiversEdgeCutlery and NationalKnives.

DLT finally came through, and man did they ever come through.

Ordered Wednesday morning, shipped Thursday morning, arrived here in California Friday by lunch. Wow.

Free next-day shipping? I am besotted. Thank you DLT.

Went to grab my torx drivers to just swap the stock clip to tip-down, and realized I had an extra stonewash clip hidden away. Lovin’ it on the Crucarta PM2.

This is far and away the nicest PM2 I’ve ever handled. Perfectly centered, impeccable action, and one of the sharpest knives out of the box I’ve ever used - feels freshly stropped, literally zero effort cutting light packaging materials today.

I have two complaints.
1) The scales aren’t dark enough yet. I’ll have to do some serious work with it.
2) I miss the contouring from my Zcarta Shaman. I could also do without the pinky bump. I would kill for this blade in a Shaman handle.

Carrying the PM2 today, I was reflecting a bit on my EDC choices. I do love the PM2 and P3, and I love K390, but I don’t find myself carrying those knives very often anymore. I realized today that I’ve been holding off simply because I have too many micarta knives at this point to bother with the G-10. I think I’m going to order up some RGT micarta scales from DLT shortly here, and see if that helps my K390 Paras get more pocket time.
I'm happiest with Micarta and Tool Steel.

Top four in rotation: K390 + GCM PM2, ZCarta Shaman, Crucarta PM2, K390 + GCM Straight Spine Stretch.

I agree with you 100% mine arrived last week and I was ready to order some scales for it. As soon as I opened the box, I knew I didn't want new scales, the Micarta look great and feel great. Almost wish my manix 2 in M390 had the same scales.

Today is my second day carrying the Crucarta PM2. It is probably the coarsest finish I've had on a set of Micarta scales, which is quite interesting. It almost feels rubbery - very grippy. It's still very light in color, but I do hope that with time the scales will darken more like my Shaman. Someone on another forum was asking whether or not they should dye their scales red, and I offered to take some comparison photos for them.

Of the four natural Canvas Micarta knives I own, the finish on my LT Wright Small Workhorse is my favorite. It's polished a bit more than the rest, but still plenty grippy. That knife is also more highly contoured than the others here, so that may very well be part of it. I like the finish on the Shaman's micarta next-best.

I also pulled out my K390 PM2 today to compare. I definitely noticed the weight different first. Pleasantly surprised at that - I assumed the full liners would be heavier. Next, the action. My K390 PM2 is a very nice example, but the action is just not as "drop shutty" as the Crucarta PM2. The larger lock bar tab is a welcome addition - it creates less of a hot spot on my index finger when actuating the lock.

I know that Eric doesn't browse the forums so often, but man - great job with this one.
I'm happiest with Micarta and Tool Steel.
