Hi Jimsears,

I guess it's a bit late but if you were contemplating to buy a Para 3 LW, there is a list of authorized dealers on spyderco's website that can put your mind at ease.

However, if it is a second hand buy, I can't really tell. I can only say (write) that I never saw a post or video about fake Para 3 LW. They counterfeited the Delica and other bi-textured FRN models so who knows...
:respect In the collection :respect : Lots of different steels, in lots of different (and same) Spydercos.

I have not seen a fake of the LTWT yet. I am sure they will appear at some point...

Injection molds are so expensive to make and maintain I would guess that counterfeiters are probably happy sticking with G10 models.

They started to put out a lot of P3 LW fakes lately, my post didn't take long to become false.

Fakes on eBay.

Looking at the posting you linked to, and comparing it to my own P3LW left me wondering what, or why, you are saying that is a fake?
I'm not saying it isn't, but nothing "jumped out" at me indicating it was.

Position of the spider logo is wrong.

Text angle/rotation different.

Screws are polished/shiny. Real ones are unfinished/matte.

The rim of the lanyard hole on the pile side is joined to the edge of the handle on a real one. On the fake the rim around the lanyard hole is distinct and separate from the edge of the handle on both sides.

It looks exactly like the one on Aliexpress except that the logos are not erased from the images.

Man, what a terrible human being. This probably would have fooled me. Reported the item, hope this guy gets some karma.
I'm happiest with Micarta and Tool Steel.

Top four in rotation: K390 + GCM PM2, ZCarta Shaman, Crucarta PM2, K390 + GCM Straight Spine Stretch.

Looks like there's are plenty of fake Para 3s going around now, in both G10 and lightweight versions. Can hardly tell the differences unless one has a real one side by side, be careful :
