PARA 3 C223GP S45VN - Fake or real

#1

Post by Mkvenner »

Hello guys, i have recently bought my first spyderco.
Because of reading of so many fakes I am a bit confused now. Can anybody help to figure out, if I got a fake or a real one?
I have bought the knive online at a knive dealer in Germany, wich has no bad reputation.

Here are the pictures of the knive and the box:

Welcome!

The knife looks real to me, but I don't have S45VN model to make a direct comparison. Hopefully someones else will see this post and compare it with one of theirs.

You can also email Spyderco with links to your pictures for them to verify. Be warned, there can be a delay before your email is seen and responded to.

Thank you very much.

Meanwhile I have got a PM2 (even S45VN) from a dealer that does not sell fakes. When I compare both, i think the PM2 is real.

Hi Oliver,

From what I can see, the finish on the blade and the logos and writings are way too clean and high quality for it to be a fake. But nowadays, they can become pretty convincing.

I live in France and was asking myself the same question when I bought my first Spyderco there. I then used the Dealer locator and the knife store was part of it.

You can find it here : https://www.spyderco.com/resources/dealer-locator/

(PS : If your dealer does not appear in the dealer-locator, it doesn't necessarily mean that your model is a fake)
:respect In the collection :respect : Lots of different steels, in lots of different (and same) Spydercos.

If you bought from a reputable dealer you should be fine.

Thank you guys for your responses.

Meanwhile I am convinced, that my PM3 is real, especially when compared to my PM2.

I have checked the dealer locator before, but mine wasn't listed.

Again, thank you all for your help.
